hi 👋🏼 thinking about starting this drama but before that I'd like to know a bit more about it, without many…
If you enjoy slow-burn romances with realistic, flawed characters and emotional depth, this drama will definitely hook you. It’s not your typical love story. It's more about complex feelings, missed timing, and how love can be messy yet meaningful. The chemistry between leads is undeniable, but expect more internal struggles and less cliché romance moments. The ending is open but hopeful, fitting the mature tone. So, if you like unconventional and thoughtful romances, it’s worth the watch despite the mixed ratings
Previously someone commented that the Esquire logo is 'DARNED.' Well, it really is DARNED. The only thing I could think when I saw Esquire was 'DARNED'.
I really like the 2 epsiodes and Park Min Young is doing a great job with such a different role from her usual RomCom characters. Her portrayal of Yi rang as a quirky, messy, yet super smart sociopath is definitely unexpected but really interesting to watch. From what I've seen of the Japanese original, Dahko was a bit of a freak too, so PMY’s version fits well in that vibe.
That said, the drama’s plot moves pretty quickly, especially since only two episodes have aired so far, and we haven’t gotten much backstory or emotional connection between the three main characters yet. That probably adds to why some viewers feel a bit weird or disconnected from it. But I think there’s a darker underlying storyline that seems to be diverging from the Japanese version, which might answer some of our questions as the show continues so I’m okay with the fast pace and mystery for now.
Overall, it’s a fresh, entertaining take, even if it takes a bit to get used to Park Min Young in this role and the quicker story progression.
Byw I haven't watched the Japanese Original. Is this a one to one adaptation of the original? Like their stories and personalities? Either way I'm seated.
Absolutely love this drama, the 2ML couple's dynamics are too good.
I don't think the main leads will be a couple at all. They have great chemistry, though. Only the audience and Kang Hyo Min have this imaginary relationship with ML, tea and handkerchiefs, while ML is one of the greatest mentors one could ever have.
And about the book, theories? Ideas? It’s a pebble in my shoe. Was he, the original writer perhaps?
I was so sure that the king wrote the book the moment it appeared on the screen in ep 1. It started like a love letter, to her. Seemed like she never got to read that book until her future self. I guess we'll get a realistic sad ending. And ep 4 just confirmed that he's indeed the writer. Their story seems like a loop stuck in the time and space. Not sure whether that loop has different endings though.
But the drama overall was refreshingly healing.
These days law dramas written by lawyers are taking over I guess. I loved "The Good Partner" just like this drama

Bon Appetit Your Majesty fanarts.
It was a fun light-hearted tale of 2 fluff balls.

Hopefully they keep this comedic vibe throughout the drama 🤞
All this time I thought Kings first get married to a Queen, only then they start having concubines.
And ep 4 just confirmed that he's indeed the writer.

And I'm enjoying a Yoona's drama after a very long time.
