I read the novel and there’s many instances like the ones you describe. 12 episodes doesn’t do the story justice. I’m not giving you spoilers unless you ask. 🤭 All I can say is that the time frame of this story is long. It’s a memoir of his life and love. A lifetime of love!❤️ 🥹🫠
The story was entertaining but unable to truly engage me. A lot of rock music. Great acting. The love angle was predictable and did not connect either. Did I enjoy it. Yes, FFowarding redundant story lines. Will I watch it again. No. Fairly it’s a great effort made by The Production team and actors! Rated 8.0
The way to truly understand the emotional undercurrent is reading the novel. It’s understandable that they are trying to convey with water beds and sweat. Chi Cheng adores Su Wei. But his love is sadistic and extremely dominant. In the novel he constantly punishes Su Wei with spankings and rough sex. Su Wei likes it, but feels humiliated. So it’s a vicious circle for them. This is a big part of the novel. So both points of view are understandable. Hope this helps.✌🏻

Hell, I’m still getting over the visual when Thada picks up Armin in the rain, back in the first episode. Just to be ambushed again by the night sky when they made up. The couch was like the logo of their purest love. Now I feel I got shot, having to wait a week for medical care. I hope they make it! Not sure I will! 🫠😂🔥🫠
