Wow! What a surprise. Such young cast, such emotional impact. I went in with very low expectation as many Chinese Dramas are usually long drawn out (need speed watching), with maturity level of teenagers (cute romantic encounters of leads, everyone?!), and illogical/frustrating/boring plot lines. But THIS ONE IS AWESOME. I would say it is easily within my top 5 favorite of Chinese Dramas in recent years. If you are looking for a gem, this is it.

This drama has some great cinematography, together with a few but very touching original soundtrack to make some very standout scenes. Storyline is straightforward and natural, which allows this drama to focus on the characters themselves. I have long been starving for a good Chinese drama and thank goodness I found this one. There is not a single kiss scene (thank god!), yet delivered such endless passion. In this aspect, this drama reminded me of Martin Scorsese's Age of Innocence (written by Edith Wharton), possibly one of the most romantic movie/stories out there. And of course it is only 36 episodes! Good job all around. Love it!

This was a surprise winner for me. I actually didn't know what this story was about when I first embarked on this journey. And I was addicted, like it was heroin. I felt a rush through out the entire 15 episodes, I kept wanting to know what will happen next . When I finally got to the end, it left me feeling incomplete and desperate for more answers, so I scoured the web and found the original Chinese web novel and chow it down in record time. Overall, the entire drama to novel and back to drama journey has been an surreal experience to say the least, one that I would not easily forget.

About the ending... I don't want to give anything away, but if you are like me and felt you want more, here is the link (http://www.56wen.com/txt/12035.html) to the Chinese original web novel. It is 70 sections long and the drama ended in mid section 21. So yeah, I felt like I have hit the jackpot! I enjoy the writing very much and the drama mostly followed the novel, so it followed the same theme as the drama, I just couldn't stop.

About the drama... I loved the drama, I loved the cast, and I loved the story. It didn't set up the 2 main characters as one lowly and one privileged like hundreds of other dramas that I have watched. These 2 characters are so genuine, so much alike , so honest, and their relationship is so organic. Their love for each other is so related-able, I almost want to swing that way but at last lack the proper equipment. The young actors did a wonderful job, portrayed such love and tenderness while showed off their natural masculinity. It was definitely a good drama. The story is so gripping that you may not notice the rough around some edges. I am sure the funding was limited due to the fact that it was a web production, but it does not disappoint.

About the music... I have to mention that the one song that stood out most for for me was by Twinbed titled "Trouble I'm in". I have been addicted to it since I've found it. You can find it on youtube through this link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvW63QsIxts&list=RDOvW63QsIxts&index=1)

I hope you will watch this drama and read the web novel to see where it will take you. Have a good journey!
