I think they explained that time stopping happens when someone access the portal. But I think you might be right about needing the full flute to time travel.

My theory is there a time travel element to the flute that neither Yi Gon or Yi Rim have unlocked yet. However, because Yi Gon is a mathematician he will figure it out way before his uncle does.

He said that Lady Noh doesn't like her but I'm not entirely sure that's true. She can see that Tae Eul doesn't bow and scrape to him and he seems to be happy now that he's met her. So maybe Lady Noh will approve of her because of that.

Well I've seen a few shows with "sort of" happily ever afters. It's not exactly what we'd want but it's as close to a happy ending as possible.

I haven't watched the show yet, just little clips. I'm kind of worried I would not like Lee Dong Wook after seeing his real personality haha

But if you look at the build of the person who saved little Yi Gon it's clearly a man. The way I figure, Tae Eul is the key to getting everyone Yi Gon needs to defeat his uncle. Therefore, Yi Gon needed to bring her into his world. So adult Yi Gon or Adult Jo Yeong takes the pass back into the past and makes sure it gets to the little prince.
