Since ML is also a doctor, perhaps i guess ML couldnt fully blame the father-in-law.

After the surgery ended, he had already heard about his daughter's tragedy from his father-in-law, and in a state of utter despair, he witnesses his wife's hopelessness and is being unilaterally blamed by her.

What would you do? Would you scream and cry with your wife? Would you be enraged? Yeah, ordinary people would do the same.

However, in this situation, ML has to be agonizing over whether or not to reveal what his father-in-law did to him, and to his own daughter and granddaughter. No, acting can vary depending on the nature of the drama, the genre, and the character within it.

It just looks like you dislike it simply because the actor isn't acting the way you prefer for the character you imagined.

I read your posts, and it seems you're just angry because ML isn't acting the way you want him to.

Just because I said he must have been exhausted by the situation doesn't mean the actor needs to outwardly express that exhaustion. That's way too one-dimensional, haha.

Also, it's not that ML doesn't express emotions at all; he only does so when it's necessary for the flow of the plot. If emotions aren't expressed at other moments, it leaves room for the viewers to deduce it themselves. That is how it has to be. Don't forget, this is a thriller, not a romance melodrama.

Consider the protagonist's current state carefully. He was already aware of the hospital's corruption—that stem cells were being illegally exploited and that the hospital was falsifying clinical trial results. He had kept this a secret from his wife for a long time. Because such issues existed even before the moment his daughter died, his relationships with FL had become distant, and he could not speak to anyone within the hospital; he only managed to confide in a female junior psychiatrist.

Here, he begins to unravel the inner workings of the crimes he already knew about, and he is performing the necessary acting for this role very well.

Please, I hope you do not criticize the actor or the character just because they are not acting in the style you prefer, nor force that style upon others.

The only scenario likely to trigger a massive emotional upheaval in him would be if the ultimate villain turned out to be his wife.

Having characters conceal their emotions is a directorial style for this director; he assign secrets to every character and keep them hidden, only to reveal those secrets or backstories toward the end.
As for the male lead, given his personality, there isn't much reason for him to outwardly express his emotions, aside from his interactions with his wife after his wife being free.

It seems some international fans really dislike characters with this kind of personality. Is this because we all grew up in different culture? Personally, however, I view the male lead's facial expressions and vocal tone as unique traits of the character, and I find this type of personality appealing.

If you look at Namgoong Min's other dramas, you can see he is an actor capable of a wide range of emotional shifts and expressive acting. In this instance, he is simply portraying a character with a different temperament—and I happen to prefer this kind of character.

Namkoong Min is brilliantly carrying this drama.
The secret surrounding the character Kang Taeju was finally revealed in episodes 9 and 10.

I hope those who previously hated the character without grounds—and without making an effort to understand him need now to re-examine Kang Taeju and to see the ML's acting with fresh eyes. He is introverted and aloof, appearing to lack any passion for life. Yet, he had no choice but to be that way, as he was someone who had to quietly swallow and endure everything internally.

It is fine to dislike the character Kang Taeju, but one must shed the foolishness of loathing the actor portraying the character simply because you dont like the character.

Your post really shows how everyone views things differently. I consider Kim Kyung-ae to be the most multi-dimensional and multifaceted character in this drama; just look at the range of performances she has delivered across the episodes—she is anything but one-dimensional. She comes across as far a more compelling villan than No Manhee and is a character shrouded in secrets.
The case with Seyoon—let’s see how things unfold in the remaining two episodes. It seems likely there are secrets surrounding Seyoon as well.

Did you watch Ep9~10? That’s where I started to see some chemistry between them.
Up until then, there hadn't been any romantic moments; the focus was mostly on them keeping their distance or clashing, so making divorce seemed like the right choice. But starting with Episode 10, as the couple began to be honest with each other, I see the chemistry btw them finally.

He believed that if she discovered her own father let her daughter die for his vip patient surgery, the shock might drive her to take her own life, especially given the severe psychological trauma she had already suffered after losing their daughter.

It remains unclear whether the male lead continued to participate in the crime or stopped after discovering the illegal nature of the surgery.

Before getting swept up in such a kidnapping things, ML comes across as a socially awkward, deeply introverted nerd—a quiet humanist who excels only in his own field, lacking social skills and having no interest in office politics or money.
However, once he becomes entangled in the kidnapping case, he ends up fleeing the police station, engaging in car chases, and even pointing a gun at someone. Haha.
