If "Broker" was not good, how the hell did it get nominated at CANNES the most prestigious film award on this planet?

IU is literally a 3-time Baeksang-nominated actress. "My Mister", "Hotel Del Luna" and "Tangerines". Plus Broker as well. So that makes it 4.

Like I said, "Persona" is not one show, it's an art movie with different stories. It's not made for the typical Kdrama fans like you.

I only mention her recent dramas: these are her Baeksang nominations: 2019, 2020, 2023, 2025. She got nominated for all of her work since 2019, and neither was a Popularity Award, it was for Acting!

No offense, but IU is literally THE ONLY Kpop Idol in history who was nominated at the Cannes Film Festival, and that was for "Broker". That's a fantastic movie.

"Persona" is just a short-form anthology series, and it was good. "Dream High" was okay-ish, unless you're talking about the "Dream" movie that was also good, and "Bel Ami" were okay-ish, like I said.

Also, who cares about ratings? That has nothing to do with quality. MDL is the prime example of that. Most overrated dramas here are bang-average at best.

I mean, most D+ licensed shows are only available in Ireland and the UK. Some MBC dramas are available in Spain and Serbia, but that's all.

Not many because usually it's only 1-5 countries at best. The problem is that no other platform licenses these D+ shows, and I don't know why.

I'm UAENA since 2008, so I will support it, unless the script is really bad, but I've never seen IU pick bad scripts. Not even in her early years. Even those were okay-ish.

My bigger problem is I don't know how to watch, because Disney messed this up again. No one can watch it in the EU.

Netflix should've bought it, especially after the success of Tangerines.

I'm a fan of her too, as you can see in my review, but the script was a mess.

Many Kdrama fans can't do things like rate properly and have real opinions, and what's worse, they think everyone should be positive all the time.

I'm the complete opposite of them. I don't care if my favorite actor(s) are in something. The first thing I look at is the script, then acting, directing, chemistry, etc. If the script fails to deliver, it's really hard to make me rate something higher than 6/10. The rest have to be top-tier or at least crazy fun like "Strong Girl Bongsoon". That show was carried by Park Boyoung and Park Hyungsik and their chemistry, but story-wise, it wasn't anything special. Tbf it was much better than this one.

That's much harder LOL. Not to mention that was the main reason the story was so all over the place.😂

I hate this too, but honestly, I'm more "afraid" a certain fandom will barge in and "review" bomb the drama. I've already seen so many of her fans talking shit about IU. They should just rewatch their fave drama and shut up. The ones who are saying they have sibling vibes are probably the same people.

The pace is anything but slow, and saying it's not realistic is a ridiculous complaint because this is a Kdrama not a documentary. She went to multiple doctors, but neither could help her because no one knew what her actual problem was till she finally learned everything about her past.

The acting was top-notch too.

You can dislike anything you want, but those things you said are not true at all. This is a properly written drama with great acting, unlike some actually overhyped below-average nonsense like "Lovely Runner", "Would You Marry Me", "When The Phone Rings" or "Love Next Door" for example.

At least this drama was consistent and never changed their original plan and stick to the rules unlike in "Lovely Runner".

Just because you don't win an Award doesn't mean your career is over. 99% of actors would work in TESCO if that's the case. Park Eunbin is one of the best actresses, and she only has 3 Baeksang nominations and only won 1 in 30 years.

Just because the other dude is more "interesting" because he's a player basically doesn't mean he's better. He's better fit for people like you who watch Kdramas for the visuals and typical romance scenes, but he's not even close to being the better fit for the FL.

That's why most romcom fans don't like mature romcoms because it's not about the cute or cool boys.

In short: SML is like a Ferrari, it's fun for 1 or 2 times, but you're gonna choose a Toyota because it's more reliable in the long term.
