What Ian says is total bullshit. If I wanted to protect my nephew and the woman I love, I would put the killers in jail, not give them a free pass. The Queen Mother deserves to be burned alive. Not only because she killed her husband, but also because he wanted to burn alive her own song as well.

Also, let's not forget that Ian didn't do anything about QMs dad either. He only choked for a hot minute, and that was it.

Ian slept on the letter till Huiju came along. That's the one and only reason he wants to be King, not because he wants to protect his nephew. The guy couldn't cook an egg without asking for help.

So yeah, the PM wants to protect the Crown that's why he's hiding the truth, and Ian protecting QM and her dad is literally the same thing for different reasons. Most of you just want to give some romantic explanation. for Ian because he's the ML.

So, how is that protecting Huiju exactly?

The only good thing he wanted to do was break up with Huiju, but she changed his mind after like 5 minutes.

Also, between the poisoning and him wanting to become the King there were like 4 episodes without any real indication he was planning to do something. Most of the plots are written poorly; things just happen randomly. Even Jinmu didn't look like a villain for many episodes; he was literally shocked to hear her daughter killed the King and now he's a villain too.

Again, excuses. She never loved Ian for a minute; the only thing she wanted was his status. This is the usual Kdrama romcom trope. People fall in love after one cute moment. That's not real love. That's literally a Disney movie.

Well, PM tried to stop both Ian and Huiju multiple times because he knew how dangerous this family is. He didn't confess his feelings. So what? He's not the first Kdrama character. Most of you shipping men like him with female characters all the time, especially if it's a ML.

The funny thing is I'm one of the few people who watch the drama properly because most of you only care about the cute romance and kissing scenes and obsessing over a pretty ML but that's not surprising. This is how romcoms in Kdrama land work. That's why romcoms are still the most popular genre.

1 kissing scene can make you all forget the lazy writing and bland characters. You all are just making stuff up based on your feelings. That's why so many people are defending the Queen Mother and hating on PM even tho one is a killer, an abusive mother who wanted to kill his own son, and the guy who's just a jealous idiot.

Ian is a nuanced character? How? All he does is be moody, sad, or cry for Huiju. The first time he was actually interesting was when he was choking QM's dad. Before Huiju served herself to him on a silver plate, he was just a puppet who did what people told him.

He had the letter of the King for years, but he didn't do anything with it till Huiju came along, and now he's acting as if he wants to protect his nephew and his wife.

Even the PM guy is more nuanced because he's not only in love with Huiju, but he also has to obey the Crown and the Parliament, and he actually does things, good or bad.

Ian is basically like a toy ship you put on a lake, and you watch where it goes.

You know who was nuanced? Prince Wang in Moon Lovers.

In Perfect Crown, the only nuanced character is probably Queen Mother.

My only bias on the show is Huiju and Secretary Do. If you remove them, I wouldn't even watch this. I don't care about the men in this drama; they are all boring and uninspiring.

There's not much to enjoy tbh. It started off really good but turned out to be another bland romcom without substance.

Like, they killed 3 or how many Kings with fire, and people still don't say anything about it. The story is all over the place now.

If you're talking about me, you're wrong, because I couldn't care less about him or the ML. The show is carried by the female characters and them alone.

The men are 100% useless. I just don't side with anyone like most people, and they only side with Ian because he's the ML. Ian is literally one of the most boring ML I've seen in a while.

I mean, I've seen so many people saying Huiju's dad is evil because he asked her to divorce Ian. Even tho he literally spelled it out, he wants her girl out of that hellhole palace so she won't be hurt again.

He's not a nice guy obv; he's a cheater, but he loves his daughter. He just can't show it mainly because he's embarrassed by his past.

What's worse is that so many people cheering for QM and saying she finally becomes a real mother, and I'm like losing brain cells reading that. 😂

And I don't even want to mention the Ian vs PM battle. Both of them are protecting killers, but only PM gets the blame.

I enjoyed the first 6 episodes or so, I don't remember, but the writing was never top-tier, it's just your average Marvel movie, basically. If you turn off your brain, you'll be fine. But the 2nd half is a downhill.

I wasn't a huge fan of "Moon Lovers" either, but in that at least we had a decent story with politics, fights, and a bit more complex romance and characters.

Here, everyone is either just crying or having fun or, what's worse, randomly turns out to be a villain without any real buildup.🤣

Ian also knows how dangerous it is to be in this family, yet he still married Huiju. Even tho she almost died twice and I don't think we've seen any bodyguard with her either.

Let's not forget the other fact that Ian hid the King's letter for years and let his nephew suffer as a King, even tho he could've just taken over his place if he had shown the letter.

Ian wouldn't be in the picture at all if he were not a prince. That's the one and only reason Huiju was interested, but because this is a Kdrama romcom, 1 kiss was enough for her to fall for him. Imo, that's not love.

PM is just another fool and jealous, just like ML, btw. He has no right to be jealous because he didn't do anything to get Huiju. She literally handed herself to him.

PM is a good guy? Don't know; don't care, but he's definitely not worse than Ian, until he kills someone.

Because most people only watch Kdrama for the romance, the rest isn't important. I would bet big money most of them skip the scenes without the two leads and PM.😂

As for the rushed story. What story? This drama doesn't have any real story other than Huiju wanting to have a royal status. That's all.

There's barely any romance, not to mention comedy or politics. This drama is carried by the cast. I don't think anyone would care about it if you remove IU and some other big names.

Dropped after 6 episodes. I had enough of the messy writing. Other than the great acting, this offers nothing. I don't understand why people hype this. Maybe they didn't watch as many thriller/crime stories as I did.

The problem with this drama is that it doesn't seem like they know what they want to do. Like, before EP8 only QM looked like a real villain, and then out of the blue her dad became the villain as well, and now they're implying PM is a villain too.

I mean, there's no actual buildup for most of these characters; they're just doing things. That's why I don't feel much about the leads' romance either. The whole thing happened only because she wanted his status, and now they're crazy in love. It's your average drama where 1 kiss enough to fall in love and 1 mistake is enough to become a villain. 😂

Every romcom has clishes but not many can do it properly. So far it's decent, but I fear it might turn out to be the next "Dynamite Kiss."

I've been a UAENA since 2008 and tbh, this is one of her worst romcom I've seen.

Like, I know most people are crazy about the latest kissing scene, but overall the ROM part in PC is lacking hard. BWS is not a good fit for romcoms.

Rankings would be high even if it were only IU just doing ASMR. 😂

Writers only rush endings because they can't write the first half well. It's not about the quantity of the episodes; it's about the quality of the script. If for some writers 8-10 episodes are enough to tell a story properly, 12 episodes should be enough too, especially for a romcom.

She literally said: "BURN MY CHILD ALIVE." but everyone is still talking about the irrelevant puppet PM guy.

Tbh, without IU, I would've dropped this already, but some of the acting is pretty good, and the writing isn't irritating; it's just playing safe, and now they're using all the clishes again. I have a "Dynamite Kiss" déjà vu.

Put this in spoiler, but also, I don't think we've seen anything about this yet. Tbh, I don't think the writer did much with his character till now. Most people (including me) thought he was a villain because he's Jinmu. 😅
