This drama is absolutely incredible. I've now watched the donghua up to Oct. 2025 and so I have a lot of thoughts…
This genre (common mortal ascending into immortal thru cultivation) was actually invented by the author of this novel. There are some copycats but so far I'm not aware of any being made into dramas. If you want to find xianxia dramas you can click the cultivation/xianxia tags in the synopsis section above, but they will just be the normal kind (good vs evil, love story, etc).
Immortal ascension from the eyes of martial sister Chen Qiaoqian (English subtitle available), it's quite sad. Warning: there are spoilers in this video, you might not want to watch it if you have not watched the drama. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWSrc4QpCAg&lc=UgzxH4-vPtqDhHtvkJ14AaABAg
Han Li is collecting female disciples left and right in donghua’s latest arc 😅
She is the first of HL's seven disciples and is very capable as a manager. In the novel HL later offloaded all his nominal elder's tasks in the Drifting Cloud sect to her. But eventually she didn't make it to nascent soul. Not sure if the donghua will omit these little details.
Wang Chan part is modified by the donghua team. In the novel he didn't reappear until quite a few chapters later.…
LOL😂 All characters had gotten an upgrade due to the improvements of the donghua team. But we could just take it as she had grown up and therefore prettier😂
I do hope they will continue this show. In the meantime, I will watch the donghua. The story is basically the…
In ancient China, cultivation was real and usually practiced by the Daoist, and they did seek immortality and enlightenment in seclusion and peaceful way (they also experimented with creating elixirs like in the Xianxia novels, and accidentally invented gun powder). It's totally unlike in the Xianxia/Wuxia novels/dramas where cultivators try to kill each other or other human beings. The novels/dramas fantasize/dramatize it for the sole purpose of making it more interesting, otherwise there won't be much of a story😂 And no the Daoist can't fly😂 Some of them do practice martial arts and could leap up high walls or onto the roof, parkour style (e.g. those Daoist from Wudang). Taichi is believed to be originated from Wudang, and it is a real martial art that could be used for fighting, not just exercise for old uncles/aunties 😂
Donghua ep 164, Han Li was telling his clan's offspring to stay away from the cultivation world, because it's brutal and an entire clan could get wiped easily. I was LMAO, was he referring to what he just did recently? 😂
Wang Chan finally made a reappearance in donghua! And Han Li paid a visit to his descendents and the ancestral…
