She held a gun to him to get him to try to leave to save his life (and she wound up shooting herself instead). He held a gun to her to threaten her in his anger and grief and then used it to set fire to the house he gifted her less than 48 hrs ago (with her still inside). She said cruel things to him sure (mostly to try and dissuade him from meddling in her plans and getting hurt- again). He said he wanted to crush her bones and shred her flesh because.... he was hurt. As much as I do feel bad for QIngyi I feel for my girl Ren Susu just as much if not more.

Take away the looks and guys like him are a dime a dozen. With the looks? They're out there and come in various levels of emotionally stable. Better than him? The bar so far is won't pull a gun on her, won't frequently says he hate her, and wish her dead..... I believe that's a clearable bar. <3

One last ranty note. Boy gives her NO credit whatsoever! When he was lamenting Qingyu's death he went on about how Qingyu was the only one trying to fix his cut tendons... heh? When Susu found out she immediately called a doctor friend of hers but YOU stopped her and told her that "since you were a surgeon" that you knew whether or not it can be fixed. SMH... Qingyi, qingyi, qingyi!!!!!!!!!

Qin Xiaoyi in Love Between Lines is so similar to Ren Susu (to a lesser a degree- wayyyyy less trauma). But he's a guy so he's allowed to push his emotions to the side, for the sake of revenge and him being so goal oriented is *sarcasically* sooooo hot (tbf I do rank that dramas one of my top 3 cdramas of all time- it's great). BUT because he's a guy no one is shredding him over the fact he waits until he is emotionally ready and available before going all in on loving and pursuing fl. And fl does get hurt at times because of this "but it's understandable that his revenge is more important rn than their love". I call DOUBLE STANDARDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang, I could've sworn that it was still at 7.5 yesterday oof. The show is not bad but it's also not for everyone. It's angsty, fast paced, with romance as a heavy central theme but it's also a bit **toxica**. Also, the first 5 eps were .... rough. Those were the ai intro days, way too loud background music, and waaaaay too many feet shots. However, things vastly improved by ep 7-8. And tbf by ep 3 we got basically all of the important backstory info out of the way which leaves 30 eps for new plot stuff which they jam-packed in given that each ep is a glorified 30 mins. I say give it a shot and see if you like it <3

So let me get this straight my girl Ren Susu:

Lost her family due to getting entangled with Murong Qingyi
Thus getting sent to the orphanage where she was tortured for years
She shot herself trying to free him off murder charges
Got beaten several times trying to protect him
Had to defend herself against being exposed by him (because boy couldn't stop meddling)
Lost half her hearing protecting him
Was willing to let him have the last parachute
Had him pull a gun on her
Had him tell her how much he hated her and wished she was dead- but never cursed him or return the hurt in kind
Blocked his body with hers when he nearly got shot

And prior to the og Hou murder:
She let him have all the sweet things
Made sure that he had adequate lighting for his surgery during an outage
Sent him yummy pastries as a gift back when they were penpals (while the best gift he could think to send her was a picture of himself lol)
Saved his life when they were children y'know

Oh and y'know raised their child for 6 years by herself because, honestly, that was the less stressful alternative (and safer for their child- from the li's etc)

And some of y'all really wanted to call her cold-hearted and selfish huh? Like we get that Murong Qingyi has suffered a lot in life (abuse is too mild of a word for some of the things he endured)

But y'all are ignoring the fact that her suffering WAS NO LESS THAN HIS...

Plus, a sizeable chunk was inflicted on her by him for the sake of his wounded ego and emotions.

Brooooooo Ren Susu deserved/deserves better!!!

You know what if her biggest personal failing is that she isn't able to love him back right now (to the same degree he "loves" her) FAIR - they have murders, assassins and monsters all around!

If she rode off into the sunset with him right now (up to ep 23) she'd be damning other innocents to suffer what she barely escaped.

Monsters like HIS abusers who she staunchly defended him from- often without fail.

Qingyi, qingyi, qingyi way to keep on hurting the one person who would rather die than hurt you and tried the best they could not to fail you.

Ren Susuuuuuuuuuuuu at this point i almost wish you'd fall in love with someone else. Or at the very least call him out on the fact that you both tried in your own ways to make this relationship work but while you gave him credits and flowers, he gave you a gun to your head and just asked if you ever loved him... (because we all paint romantic portraits of people we hate smh)

Also let's not get this twisted:

Him being framed for murder was the Hous fault
His tendons being severed- Hous
Childhood abuse- Murongs and Lis
Brother being murdered- Lis, Fangs idk but certainly not Ren Susu

He was imprisoned for 3 years and she got shot and thrown off a moving train, in the dead of winter, in the middle of nowhere
He had only monsters (not family) for most his life, she had family, lost them and then got human and sex trafficked

Both heinous, tragic pasts and incidents and yet she didn't treat you the way you treated her bro :(

My Qingyu disgust is due to an amalgamation of everything Qingyu did and didn't do but my final breaking point was seeing how little he cared for the girls rescued from the bank. And if it wasn't for Miss Ye willing to fight for them he would've let the rot there- justice be damned. And tbf Qingyi was the same too at first it's just UGH! Like if it wasn't for Ms Ye and Susu fighting for these girls neither guys would've bothered to step in and help them. And now with Qingyu investigating Susu you know that he's gonna come to the laziest conclusion possible, probably hurt Qingyi in the name of "avenging" him and my girl Susu will get wronged yet AGAIN.

I now HATE Qingyu he really struggles to care about anyone or anything with sincerity huh? No wonder his brother suffered so much. Honestly, he takes so much after his "dad" it's laughably concerning. I won't regret his death but Qingyi will and I'm so sorry for him for that.

Speaking of Qingyi , what the hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll?????????????? Bro what did you finally win? Why do you think she now owes you the rest of her lifetime even though when she did the same things for you, you just claimed to hate her and wished to tear her to shreds? Like we all know that you're a puppy in wolf's clothing when it comes to her but bro what the helly? Also, the entire time I was watching the bank escape scene I was just thinking "see , this is why she doesn't involve you in things". You get hurt (often through your own fault), you act irrationally, and you have nothing truly driving you so throwing your life away is an easy default for you. Also I hope you have serious empathy for our girl now, she got shot, fell off a train, in freezing cold weather, in the middle of nowhere and survived it with a good chunk of poise and from your injuries you were still weak and in the hospital MONTHS later.

Honestly, I struggled to fall asleep last night after finding out. Like what the helllllyyyyyyyy?????????????😭😭😭

Well at least now he can no longer complain that she never tells him anything and wouldn't let him help. But idk I want them to be endgame but at the same time I she deserves better or at least peace. Like we KNOW how bad Qingyi's had it (at least to a degree) but with Ren Susu I just feel like he just can't bring himself to think she could have had it anywhere as bad too. And worse it's not like she isn't protecting him or showing that she cares for him it's just that she doesn't want him to get hurt because of her again... dude seriously needs to untangle the strings of who did what to him and seek revenge accordingly (and not just susu as a placeholder/excuse) . Like brooo she took a bullet trying to save you (failed but still), let him win the last parachute, got hit with a vase because of him, stood up to his abusive adoptive "dad" for him, slapped his crappy ex-fiance for him and MORE. And brooo you can't say she's using you when you've made it a habit of following after or meddling with her knowing that she has a dangerous mission and then get upset you get hurt (which she told you would happen if you got involved). And him using his brother as a shield and excuse saying that he's worried she'd use him too brooo I honestly think that the ONLY use she has for Qingyu is to get in closer proximity to the Hous. Is anybody else pissed at the thought of the 6 year break. Like what do you meaaaaaaaaannn they went through everything , got back together (apparently enough so that Susu got pregnant), and yet they kill his brother and that's the catalyst for them being apart for ANOTHER 6 years. Like I don't kow how to feel man. He just doesn't look for her, for 6 YEARS? After everything? And apparently in some of the script leaks (albeit I can't say anything with 100% certainty) he's the reason why her family was killed. Don't get me wrong I feel so bad for Qingyi he's been through so many awful things but her suffering is not less than his. The difference is she doesn't take out her anger on him, she understands that most of the bad things between them were accidents or caused by Hous but he can't seem to put the boulder on his shoulder down. And yes losing his brother, his only family will be tragic but I just can't see how he'd give up on her too when she did more for him than his brother did in so many ways. I'm pisssssssed at the writers. And I hope that those "leaks" were just a red-herring like the talk of 2 endings where one isn't happy. But brooo, Qingyiiiiiii, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Obvi because she wants to protect him and she says as much over and over again. For the sake of her mission everyone on her team has to be prepared to die for the cause and she wouldn't want to ask that of him. Not after everything he's been through, not after everything she's inadvertently put him through <3

Well they've already changed most of the original plot points perhaps they'll change this one too. Fingers-crossed.
