It kinda just hit me by the end of the show how all of us just collectively pretended how normal the Guillotine…
Actually I thought about that file a lot. I wish there’s a file that documented all the corrupted powerful people in my country and someone will expose them, lol. Too much wishful thinking.
Jang Han-Seo’s death:Does he have to die?Yes~1. In early episodes Han-Seo poisoned the four family members with…
We have a lot of the same trains of thought regarding Han Seo’s death. I guess in Vincenzo’s mind, he still has to die because he’s still one of the main villain characters who killed innocent people. He didn’t show any remorse or regret for his past. He was just switching side because he can see that Vincenzo is the stronger ally than Han Seok, someone who can save him from his own Brother. Which is exactly why Vincenzo didn’t try to save him. It was his own battle.
This is the best drama I have ever seen .Maybe some people would not agree with me but it's okay ) About the ending…
But of course they couldn’t live together happily. Vincenzo narrates that he’s still a mafia (and he even said to Cha Young that he’s now a mafia boss). Which means his life will always be in danger, something he doesn’t want to put Cha Young through anymore. And Cha Young said (when she sleptover in Vincenzo’s place) that if she knew Vincenzo is killing people she will feel that he’s someone from far away, like something you read in a newspaper. Which means she’ll never be able to live his way of life. They are from 2 different worlds which can never be united peacefully.
In the last scene Vincenzo’s hair style is going back to the same one in ep 8, the bangs covering half of his forehead. This is just my interpretation, but maybe it’s symbolizing how he’s being torn in the 2 worlds. The mafia world in Italy and the ordinary world with the his Geumga family.
Great ending for me, couldn’t ask for more. Everyone got what they deserved. The torture scene will give me nightmare though. For people who complained in the first few eps that Vincenzo doesn’t act like a ‘real mafia’, he couldn’t get any more mafia-like with that cold-blooded, meticulously-planned execution. For Cha Young, like Vincenzo said, art and war should be observed from a distance. He wants her to just observe and not fighting another war with him.
This blogger said that the torture scenes are some of the most brutal in Kdramas. And I agreed.
