That's sad to hear. I have issues with stress and in the past I had major depression. I haven't watched any Asian reality shows of any time. I only started watching Asian BL dramas a few months ago. And I am addicted. I'm willing to give at least 1 episode of a few Thai reality shows a try. The past year I've been addicted to Chinese Costume Dramas. As an American the only reality shows I even bother watching are major cooking competitions, America's Top Dog, etc. Fun fact I planned my own engagement date not knowing I was going to be purposed to. I had watched "Best things I've ever ate", which mentioned 50 Licks, a ice cream shop in Portland,OR. I saw Gregory Gourdet( Bravo’s Top Chef 2nd place winner, Iron Chef on the Food Network, etc) so we had dinner at Departure in Portland,OR during Portland Dinning Month. At the time it was the only way I could have afforded thst fancy restaurant. It is a modern Asian fusion with PNW ingredients.
I wonder if this is going to be a complete remake, as in mostly the same story with different actors set in Thailand. Or is it going to have refences to the original Japanese gangs? How much of watching the original Japanese series is going to ruin it?
With Thai BL we watch the trailer and then have to wait for them to fund and then film it. With all mainland Chinese dramas they have to first get approval of the script(which is the smart thing to do first so that they don't waste actors time and everybodys money). Next we are mostly waiting forever for approval of the release date. Which sometimes never happens. With Chinese dramas, you can never estimate the release time approval. Even if it's listed as coming soon on IQIYI.
I'm going to watch most of their series. I'm late to the game . Lol
I've only seen them in Burnout Syndrome. Im enjoying it. I'm only on episode 8/10. I'm loving that it's an adult Thai BL drama. Burnout Syndrome is right for their age. There isn't any high school or college aspect to it. Not much of a work office theme either. And to top it off it has a love triangle with unrequited love. The angst isn't violent or abusive. Although some parts feel a little unrealistic/uncommon.
I don't think A Controversial Entertainer is a BL. But I can't say for sure because I haven't watched it yet. We Best Love season 1 and 2 are BL dramas.
