So, he does remember everything at the end, right? That playful "Do I know you?" felt more like teasing — especially since he looked at her so longingly before, sighed in relief when she said "I found you again," and smiled when she told him of course she knows him. It definitely seemed like he remembered her.

But how did he even wake up before her in the real world? Are we supposed to imagine that after she died, he either passed out and his soul returned to his modern body, or that he actually lived out the rest of his life as a mortal there and eventually died? What I can’t quite make sense of is how they’re both back at the same time, with him seemingly "awake" earlier than her.

Also, I don’t really get why the ending felt a bit censored — we didn’t actually get to see their future together, just got it strongly implied. Is that how the novel ends too? Isn’t this supposed to be fantasy/xianxia? Lol.

That said, I am glad we got a happy ending for the leads, with the promise of them living a full life together in the real world. What I’m less satisfied with is how the cultivation world was left hanging — what happened to their friends, and to the immortal and demon realms after both rulers passed? Maybe it was all just a shared dream, but I don’t think so, since they were both there as random souls. Maybe it was just destiny bringing two people together in the strangest way.

Sorry, you're right about HL. I also haven't finished this one yet and all along I thought people were talking about them separating when they were kids, not from ep 15. I just got there now, so now it seems more clear. I also get where the criticism did come from, but I still feel like it really shouldn't be that deep. And yes, The First Frost portrayed Yi Fan's struggles better, true. It really is so similar, but reversed haha.

I didn’t say they’re comparable, but actually how different they are in contrast. I just meant both FLs have done “worse” things in high school (when they were young, not the whole drama) when it comes to showing feelings. For example, Sang Zhi literally flew to Yihe as a teen just to see Duan Jiaxu, and later even chose Yihe University, which conveniently put her in the same city as him — both actions motivated by her crush.The FL from Our Secret literally repeated her 12nd grade to take her Gaokao again so she could enter the same university as ML. But in Our Generation, this FL didn’t really “chase” the ML in that sense. Aside from being his emotional support because of his family issues and always understanding him, she didn’t follow him around like some lovestruck girl with no brains. And yes, you're right, she’s actually more like a female version of Sang Yan — she loves unconditionally, but she’s not actively chasing him. So I don’t really get why people are calling her a lovesick chaser when she literally did nothing close to what other FLs in cdramas do. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising those two, they were young and later on matured, that's all.

If by any chance, you see this comment and are in doubt about giving this a try: Sang Zhi from Hidden Love and FL (forgot her name xD) from Our Secret have done so much "worse" in my opinion to chase after the ML (also while being a teen). If you liked them, you'd definitely like this one too, so don't judge a cdrama by it's ratings, reviews or comments. Give it a chance first.

I'm thinking maybe that when he called her name at the end and she looked back, she actually did see him (because the revolutionary army won so there's no reason something bad happened at all). They just didn't show us a reunion. But it's weird, cause she didn't smile seeing him or anything too haha. She definitely looked emotional? Maybe she was emotional seeing him, not necessarily sad.

Only thing being very sad for me was how Gao Rui is dead in the original timeline but i'm happy to believe he's alive in the other one that's been (rudely haha) cut off. And of course the achievements and the other things they've lost, but those can always be won back, just like the ML said to FL "I can make another 10 companies, but you're the only one". He only needed her and his ambitions 🫶🏻
