Got the chance to watch the first episode yesterday. As usual, NGM charmed me with his acting. It was not as funny as Chief Kim, but I enjoyed it. Cheon Ji Hun gave me vibes of his previous characters, Kim Sung Ryong (Chief Kim) and Do Jung Woo (Awaken). The FL reminded me of Han So Ra from Eve, but obviously, not as crazy as her. She is competent in her work, but as all the other female characters are portrayed in male centered dramas, does not have an open mind. The first case reminded me of Ishiko to Haneo episode 4. Looking forward to seeing more cases. Although I'm a bit surprised that there are only 14 episodes.
sorry pero dinrop ko na... dko na kaya panuorin... lagi nlng ako namumuna per episodes... much better nlng dko…
TBH I'm thinking of doing the same. The story seems inconsistent, the editing is choppy, the characters are, I don't know, a bit weird (as in not written properly).
The comments were right. ML is sooo fxxking hot!!!! He gives me Jackson Wang vibes and that shooting scene in ep.6, I almost died. So fxxking hot and charismatic.
I wanted to watch the drama before reading your review so as not to spoil it. Now that I've finished watching it, I read your review and I agree with most of it, especially when you said that the past life ML is a grade-A scum.
I won't blame the FL for not believing him when he said he doesn't want to sacrifice her. He married her while hiding the fact that he was already married. Then asks her to live as a servant in his own house, which she even agrees to but when she gets accused of stealing his son from his first wife, that bastard doesn't believe her. Is that what love means to him?
Frankly, she should've killed him as soon as she became a ghost. Slowly and painfully, instead of letting him reborn. And I would damn him for the eternity, not myself.
Also, some parts of the drama were a bit predictable and got dragged with unnecessary characters.
1. I predicted that the youngest aunt would have been ML wife in their past life in episode 3 or 4.
2. I did not like that the FL killed the swimmer's aunt. What was the point of killing her, I don't know.
Also the swimmer forgave her at the end. How can she? They basically got caught in something they didn't even know nor deserve.
And let's not talk about who deserves and who does not.
Because frankly, and logically speaking, this cycle of revenge should have ended the minute it started. The FL ghost did not observe how the ML loved her if she was going to believe the ML (present life) when he showed her his past life's memories at the last moment? I mean she became a ghost and can go anywhere, see everything, so couldn't she just see how the ML (past life) mourned her death? That was pretty stupid for me.
Also I can't press the fact again and again that she killed many innocent people. Everyone except the ML. And when he reincarnated, she wants to kill him and his family who have done nothing wrong (well except the youngest and the middlest aunt).
I guess it's because I believe that your crimes are only your crimes. Not of your descent, not of your future life's. They don't deserve to get punished for something their past life's self did. That just doesn't seem fair.
I still enjoyed watching it because it kept me intrigued the whole time. There were many twists which I couldn't predict, even after predicting a huge one. But I won't re-watch it, in this life or in other. It's a one time watch drama for me. 8 for me, but maybe I'm just being generous or over critical. Because what matters in the end is if you enjoyed the drama or not. And I did enjoy it.
Edit - I seemed to have forgotten to mention the parts which I liked.
- I really like the OST. The song sung by the female version is so beautiful, it is still stuck in my mind.
- No forced romance between the ML and the FL. He is not even intrigued by her but by his past which seems to involve her.
- The relationship between FL and her sister in their past life. Even though her sister chose a (kinda) wrong way to protect the FL, it still was touching for me.
- FL parents in her past life and when they get reborn in the present were the most selfless people in the whole drama. I really like how they loved their daughters and were ready to sacrifice for them.
