That dialogue between Nak Su and himself was one of the most poignant and beautiful scenes not only in this series but in all kdramas I've watched so far. Ryu Seung Ryong better win some awards for this role.
Episode 15 had some nice moments but still it felt repetitive as a whole. Once again, it's proven that the Pyos are one of the worst aspects, I am so fed up with Hyun Jun and it's such a pity that he was written so poorly.
With one episode left, I doubt my overall impression of this drama will change. It is by no means bad but the writing could have been more tight for this type of story.
Tae Poong's mom saying all men are good-for-nothing except her son and Mi Seon nodding in agreement, that was such a funny scene, not gonna lie. The look Tae Poong's mom gave at her was hilarious 🤣
One of the most enjoyable kdramas I've watched so far! The action and comedy are well ballanced and the spingles ofmystery and political corruption add to the tension. It's so sad that it's 10 episodes only but as long as the writing is consistent and the story isn't rushed, that's fine.
After watching episode 10, I want to say how grateful I am for getting into this series. The Dream Life of Mr Kim has become one of my most favourite dramas this year. It got better as the story progressed and Nak Su's development touched my heart.
Episode 10 tied many loses together in the most emotional way. Seeing Nak Su finally voice his insecurities and trauma made me tear up. Acknowledging your trauma and your mistakes is not easy, let alone open up to a stranger about it. I'm so happy that a kdrama raised awareness of the importance of taking care of our mental health because it's often overlooked.
His dialogue with his brother was another heavy moment. I felt so sad about Nak Su. The way his parents reinforced the competition between the brothers and favoured Nak Su's brother made me feel for him. His need to be the best and present a respectable facade stemed from his childhood and his need to earn his parents' approval and thanks to his talk with his psychiatrist, he is on the path to heal.
I adored the scenes between Nak Su and Su Gyeom. Nak Su always loved his son and he wanted the best for him. The thing is, he couldn't express it properly and instead of listening to his interests, he pressured him to follow Nak Su's dreams for him. Their relationship is so complex and yet so beautiful and they are finally able to understand each other.
I am sad for saying goodbye to this drama this week. I'll miss this family and I'll miss my ahjussi
