It's a feel good series

I hardly ever write reviews but I'll do so with this one. I watched 'It's beautiful Now' after a long hiatus from the Kdrama series scene; Kdramas were becoming quite predictable but since I'm a sucker for family dramas, I went all in for this one. How did it go? Well it was great at the beginning but seemed quite draggy and repetitive from the middle till the end. Another thing to note is Mi rae wasn't the best actress for this role. She ended up numbing the relationship and swoon parts with Hyun Jae. I also blame the writing. She was naive and okay at the start then became elusive, insecure and immature when she got into a relationship with Hyun Jae. Seeing that she catered to couples in their thirties which happened to be my favorite trope, she took the sweetness out of that relationship with Hyung Jae. Hyun Jae is a good actor but his roles with Mi rae because so tiring to watch that I started fast forwarding the scenes. I loved Hae Jun's chemistry witn Yoon Jae and for me, they stole the show. Funny that even though they are in their 40s I loved their scenes and everything about their acting was natural from the start. As for Soo Jae and Yu Na, let's not go there. Something was off and I couldn't place my hands on it but I enjoyed the elders scenes over the chemistry between Soo Jae and Yu Na which I skipped without mercy. I felt the story could have been shorter and tighter. 30 episodes won't have been so bad. I also didn't like that the show was so good at the start and went flat from the middle. Hyun Jae was better at the start when he was aloof than when he fell in love. He became something else. I don't think he played that part properly. Mi Rae's mum is a beauty to behold and I enjoyed her scenes with her father at the latter end. I also liked that she chose to stick with the name of her adoptive parents and how she cared for her mum till the end. I loved Mi Rae's dad and how much he loved his wife. Mi Rae's grandmother felt quite bothersome at the start but as the show went on, i started to really like her. I didn't think she was overbearing at all besides we can't all be the same. In all, the show is nice to watch and the bond between the families gives it a warm glow. One question though? Do Koreans always lose their kids because that's the trope in 90% of the family dramas I've watched. There's always a child looking for a parent, a parent looking for a child or a sibling looking for another sibling after many years. It's a bit repetitive and predictable for family dramas and i think the writers can do better. Nevertheless, it ends well and it was quite enjoyable but nothing beats My Father is Strange and Five Enough for me.

A Wholesome Storyline and beautiful acting

To say that I loved this drama is an understatement. It is a beautiful piece. It was a bit slow at first and I understood because of the kind of plot but it was a beautiful merge of romance and business. It was realistic, bitingly so, as it didn't give the viewers a pipe dream like most dramas do where people start companies and it just becomes big overnight. It shows the reality of business behind closed doors. I love Seven Tan. She plays her roles well and has easily become my favourite Cdrama actor. I've always loved Xu Kai, especially from Arsenal Military Academy and Yanxi Palace and at first, didn't buy into his role as CEO. I think the role took a bit of getting used to as at first, he was quite stiff but subsequently, flowed into it naturally. Oh! How I love the side characters. Everyone executed their roles expertly. It is a solid drama considering all the other dramas that have been coming out of the Chinese entertainment industry. Honestly, I didn't expect much but I loved this one. It's a ten from me. To whoever feels this is not worth the watch, just try it. It'll grow on you. I think that for this year, this is the best CDrama so far and if you're like me who finds it hard to get a solid Cdrama like Meet Yourself, The Story of Minglan, Sword and the Brocade , Nothing But Thirty, First Half of my Life, etc, you'll understand why this is a must see.

There's no chemistry and it has quite a depressive tone

I went into this with high expectations but I was flat out disappointed. I mean, the story had its high points but it doesn't work properly. The story doesn't move from one end to the other. The characters and their stories seem disjointed. The other outstanding nurse felt like she was a major point of the drama but was neglected for most scenes. We couldn't see what she was thinking but only perceived it. That's not all, the rich patient plot came from nowhere to cause issues for the ML and FL. I am a screenwriter and from my POV, this had the potential to be a good story but it was a mess. There was no OST and nothing that gave the story life. It is a good watch for anyone that's patient but it's not worth the 8.4 rating. This is my first ever Jdrama and I think I'd stick with my Cdramas and Kdramas.

BEST CDRAMA OF 2024

Trust me when I say that I've dropped a lot of Cdramas this year and wanted to drop this one as well but for some reason, I pressed deeper and it was the most amazing storyline ever. That's not all, Wang Churan's beauty left me speechless most of the time and the ML (even though I didn't know he was Erquiang in the Bond) I wasn't disappointed by his delivery at all. I loved this series so much, I had warm fuzzies in my belly. I am a screenwriter so when I say, give it a try, please do. It was a beautiful plot and the execution was beautiful too. The landscape in Chinese Historical dramas has made me promise myself to visit China one day and it's going to happen very soon by God's grace. I almost forgot to leave a review on this series because I had watched it a few weeks back but I suddenly remembered and now I'm here. The side characters did beautifully as well and that end episode was amazing too.
