I dont know where you got the information that 800 did not do well in china. 800 was able to cement tencent x-theatre's position as a great crime theatre, did really well on tencent charts and did really really well on Jiangsu TV ( Jiangsu TV came up on the top 10 list due to 800, a position they could not get for a while). CVB literally praised 800 as a well performer on TV. All in all 800 was just the first step. And hopefully he will do more serious dramas. And he will surely do romantic dramas. He has been stuck with romances for 10 years and finally he got the perfect role we wanted and now yall are crying
