A Must Watch!!
This drama was what we all needed.. a break from the usual storylines.. i love how it tackled mental health, resilience, and just the human heart itself.. Bai Lu was perfect for the FL role.. she really pulled this one off.. Cheng Lei is always the right person for these General roles.. i swear this man was a General in his past life.. i love how the writers paced the story it wasnt rushed or lagging.. it flowed. And they gave each character development and closure in the end.. nothing was left undone.. this drama was not romance heavy so dont expect heavy making out.. but their chemistry was wonderful.. their love was so endearing and gets you right in the chest.. I really truly enjoyed this drama. Go give it a watch! Gonna go rewatch it again right now lol 💜Was this review helpful to you?

Arthur Chen.. has made me a believer ?
First off.. just to let you know none of my reviews will give out spoilers. My reviews are based on whether or not i personally enjoyed the show. And what i liked and disliked about each drama i watch.Lets begin 💜
I really took a leap on this show becuz for some weird reason i never found Arthur Chen attractive and his shows interesting. I avoided him like the plague. But wow.. thank goodness i took this chance. This show was so good. Plus Arthur Chen looked so handsome in this and so did Gao Han. THIS is what i call a beautifully executed love story. The ML and FL no fall outs.. no misunderstandings and splitting up for years etc.. their love was so organic and flowed without conflicts. These kinds of love stories really make your heart want to explode. Every romantic scene got me screaming and giddy. Which there was so many!! Their love conquered 3 lifetimes. Watch this if you want a love story that makes you want to root for the couple all the way 💜

Now THAT'S how you make a drama!!
This drama from beginning to end.. zero complaints! The casting.. the acting.. the storyline.. cinematography.. and overall execution was a 10. Bravo! This drama shows how its supposed to be done. The character build up. The arcs. The closures. The director and writers did a great job. The story was refreshing and heart warming. Im not a fan of complicated relationships between leads. I love how they started as enemies. Went through some trials together and sat down and was honest with eachother on what they expected from eachother. No break ups for 3 years or being seduced by other people. The leads loved eachother genuinely and always respected eachothers opinions. Even when they didnt agree the other wouldnt restrict the other on their choices. The love story is so subtle but yet so sweet. The side characters get you interested.. they make you want to know why they are the way they are. The pacing of the show was perfect. It wasnt rushed. The writers made sure everyone had their closure and peace. The amount of episodes was enough to give the audience satisfaction and transition to where we're not dying for answers or losing sleep after the show. I truly loved this show. I can say it is one of the best. I would highly recommend and i will happily rewatch any time 💜Was this review helpful to you?
Nice story..
I liked this show.. the characters had their own individual flare and it was quirky.. its your typical going back into time and coming back to the future.. i dont think this show was trying to be extravagant or ground breaking.. but it did keep me going from episode to episode.. I wanted to know what was gonna happen next. My only thing with it was the romance was a veeeeerrryyy slow burn.. almost like a carrot waving in my face the whole entire time.. but the ML/FL were very endearing during the show. The rating 7 is all for Cheng Yi.. if he wasnt in this i wouldnt even watch this. First i dont know anything about the novel.. but ive watch all the series.. Love in Pavilion being my fave one.. so i was super looking forward to this one bcuz i wanted to see Fugui's story after his parents...well that didnt happen.. the writers and whoever else was behind this screwed it all up for us viewers.. Cheng Yi was barely on screen.. his characters story didnt have a chance to develop or shine.. due to what seems like the focus became the FL. No exaggeration.. she probably had 75% screen time on this show. Even in moments her character had no significance.. she managed to be in the scene.. like when Fugui and his father were closing their chapter she was standing in the room like for what let them have their intimate moment as father and son.. maaan how much money did u pay for that.. that whole 15 episodes straight of just her and her brother.. wow.. im sorry but this was such a disappointment for cdrama.. would i recommend? Only if you are a fan of the FL cuz this technically was HER show and not about Fugui.. as for me.. i cant believe they used Cheng Yi to promote this show when its not even about him. 💜Was this review helpful to you?
Strong start..
It pains me to do this review since i love Neo so much as an actor. I know its not his fault.. more of a directing and screnwriting issue. This show was so good in the beginning then it just fell off and dragged and some parts i ended up fast forwarding cuz it was just so boring.. it began i think around ep 23 or so.. the misunderstandings and the lying and keeping secrets from eachother dragged on all the way to the last few episodes.. im sure there are other viewers who felt as frustrated and tired as me.. but i kept pushing through and finished.. so many characters in this show.. and their misunderstandings were fixed by the main couple and closed in less than one episode but the main couple just kept on with their misunderstandings and kept adding more lies and secrets to their story.. Even as a Neo fan this was a tough watch for me but i endured. Would i recommend? Sure, maybe you will like it. As for me to rewatch probably not 💜Was this review helpful to you?

A great show but..
This drama would've probably been better off a brotherhood/friendship kind of xianxia.. the females on this show ruined it for me.. From FL to supporting actresses.. i dont understand if its the directors fault making all these women has such weak characters.. im not just talking about physically. Let's start with the FL.. poor thing needs saving even when her cultivation is high.. always borderline dying.. then throughout the drama she makes these doe-eyes like bambi.. IDK what direction the screenwriters wanted her character to take.. then theres her sister.. lord have mercy.. this one is just a killing machine with zero feelings.. uses people to get what she wants.. and the screenwriters didnt even let her character redeem herself with all the people she wronged.. then theres the girl from the opposing sect.. she just does everything the sect leaders wants her to do without question.. completely clueless to the world around her.. ughhh not one female character i was happy with.. sorry.Now lets talk about the story in general.. it was interesting and good enough to keep me wanting to watch the next episodes.. Allen Ren and the other male cast members did a great job.. the fighting scenes were incredible.. I wish they spent a little more effort on Riley Wangs character.. would've wanted more development.
Bottom line.. would i recommend it? Yes, cuz everyones taste and opinions differ.. you may like the female characters on here. Would i rewatch? Me personally probably not. It was good and that was enough for me 💜

A Nice Surprise ?
This was pretty impressive for a short drama! Could be comparable to the big budget long play dramas. Qin Tian Yu's acting was on point. Loved him in Starry Love.. he was great in this one as well. Chemistry between the leads were chefs kiss. The story started a little wonky and confusing in the first episode but once the story got going it made better sense. The story flowed and stayed on track. The love story was sweet. Would I recommend? Yes watch it. Just a heads up. This is not based on any fanclub side. I belong to none in cdrama land.. with that being said this show was truly WORTH THE HYPE 💜 Just the casting alone should of already drawn your interests.. all the actors/actresses are beautiful and the stylist did an incredible job making them all look good 💜 Storyline.. kept me hooked.. no draggy fillers.. no pointless scenes.. side stories were not overly done and kept the focus on the main characters.. the battle/fight scenes are just jaw dropping 💜 Each character whether mains or support were given proper development and each one good and bad grew on you 💜 Ok let's talk about the "Jade" of the show Fan Changyu 💜 this was the best representation of an actual female general in my opinion.. there have been other shows portraying female generals but fall short for me.. you tell me someone is the first female general etc.. imma expect her to be bad ass and can be as good as any male general.. Fan Changyu showed she can do what her male counterparts can do and sometimes better.. when she was in trouble she overcame it herself.. when she was around her love interest she didnt all of a sudden become "cutesy" and forget who she is.. 💜 Now Mr. Zhang Linghe omg.. I've watched all of his period dramas and i have to say this has to be his best one.. other than him being gorgeous.. his aura in this drama as the Marquis lord have mercy.. he did not disappoint 💜 So would I recommend? 100x YES! 💜 Would I rewatch? This show was cute and funny. Tian Jianci is such a great all around actor whether playing serious or comedic roles. And Wang Churan is just beautiful to watch on screen. The story between the leads had enough to make the show work.. idk why the writers decided to make the side characters almost have the same amount of screen time as the mains.. i did end up ff their scenes.. As for the romance the leads romance is what i would call practical.. not complicated.. it is a slow burn.. but it didnt affect their chemistry.. this show could've been a 10 for me if the other characters didnt take up so much screen time it didnt give me enough time to enjoy the leads.. 💜Was this review helpful to you?
A Must Watch..
This has to be one of the best stories so far in 2025. If i could go higher than a 10 i would. As usual i don't put spoilers on my reviews. Im not gonna base my review on the actors/actresses either. This review is based on the show as a whole. The storyline with all its twists and turns kept me entertained and throwing my phone. The main/supporting characters' stories on this show were imo executed beautifully. Some shows kinda fall short when it comes to making the audience feel and understand these characters. ML/FL chemistry was nice and liked that it was a more mature romance. The relationship between the ML and his siblings was a breath of fresh air.. no rivalry.. no schemes. It was heartwarming to watch. The villians were just wow.. real villians to the core. Speaking of.. to me the relationship/story between the sister and the emperor was the highlight for me.. the way the actors and director pulled that side story off was just incredible! The arc of those characters omg they did a brilliant job! Enough of my rambling! Would i recommend? YES 500%!! Go watch it right now!! Trust me u wont regret it. An Intense Game of Chess..
This was a great show. Great actors who portrayed their characters beautifully. Epic storyline. Kept me wanting to know what happens next. As usual Cheng Yi nails his role. Plus i love him with white hair. The pacing and the amount of episodes what perfect. Even with so many characters and their back stories the director gave each one their time develop without being rushed or leaving me disappointed. So many shocking surprises and jaw dropping scenes. The story keeps you on your toes. Now would i recommend it.. YES! Just know this is not a love story. This is a revenge story. Would I rewatch.. YES! I love watching shows like this every now and then to break the cycle of just watching love stories and fantasies 💜Was this review helpful to you?
