In the beginning our FL was given a novel to take home and work on. the novels name is " transmigration: evil king favorite consort" the story is this: 21st century girl Ma Chun chun transmigrates into a book and resumes the identity of concubine Xie yong er. She falls for prince Xia bou. together they defeat the mad tyrant king Hou dan and lady Yu wan win.
While reading it on the train FL wishes that she could transmigrate just like the novel character. So she does but she becomes Lady Yu who is the antagonist of the story and is destined to die. That's why she is so happy to know the king is also transmigrated cuz they are from the same world while SFL is a written transmigrator who is following another novel with a different name. something to do with flowers blossoming in the east. the name is long cant remember

They have many similarities but also vastly different so it really depends on why you didn't like ADWAD. I think most of the differences in in ML characterization. But the other characters are pretty much the same till now maybe try 3 first episodes and if didn't gripe you give it up.
Xiao hu dan was doing a great job acting a happy go lucky new comer in few first episodes. But he hasn't been wasting time fooling around. All this time he had connections and plans on his own. he is smart I like that
Cheng lei range is absolutely crazy. he has acted in so many similar characters, all strong, capable, tragic and morally gray characters which makes it easy to blend into each other. but he plays each very differently , giving them life and the end result becomes very unique.
