The female lead is clever, calm and resourceful. The male lead is calculating and also calm. They're both very well-matched and have a really interesting dynamic.

It's been a few years of this trend, unfortunately. I've learned not to trust any drama that's off to a good start, because chances are the writers will drop the ball around episode 10, or at the halfway point at the latest. (The only exception so far has been Coroner's Diary.) This one is a huge disappointment, though, because it seemed like a martial arts adventure, so I was hoping it would be safe (especially since they shot 2 endings, from what I understand). I'll just go back to my old ways of never starting a CDrama unless it's done airing and I can be sure it has a HE, I guess.

IKR? We got a reprieve for a few years, but it seems sad endings are back in full force. My trust issues have trust issues at this point, I hate it. And when they finally met up again, Li Ci did tell him the truth. The first time, in the illusion, he tried and couldn't get a word in, but he did say it the second time. It's not his fault Liu Yan didn't believe him.
