No, I think this is what is happening to him, he in his brother's body right now. So he is literally talking to himself. Like how WSG is in his dad's body taking care of himself lol.

But it his memories

Also look at what Bai Ze say he not Yuan Wuhuo "free of misfortune" , but Yuan Wuhuo " gaining nothing". The He in this, I think he referring to Li Jie. Because before this, he looked from the outside, and it was a back-to-back transition of Li Jie saying No Return, and the butterfly demon also saying No Return.

What part was confusing ?
I think it kinda confirm that Yuan Xi Zai is Ji Ling, and Li Jie is the older brother. Remember when Long Shen found Li Jie right away and recognized him ? Also, when the double flower demon told him that the butterfly demon looked like Li Jie, and he wasn't even shocked, he just told him, " Don't worry about it, they probably found the 'painted skins' somewhere? Also in the flash back we saw the original butterfly demon and they did not look like Li Jie.

I think that's why Ji Ling became the dragon deity because of the dragon marrow that was fed to him.

Something must have happened to Li Jie for him to end up that way and get help from Long Shen. It kinda work Jing Li and Li Jie have basically a big bro little bro relationship.

Does this mean, all this time JJY’s talent wast mostly wasted on crappy shows because of her previous agency?
She was decent in In Blossom.... But O boy Beauty of Resilience.... that was something. The horror.

She been pretty amazing in VoS, I only ever seen those three that she in, and this one by far her best out of the three.

But even during In Blossom, she was really captivating playing Shangguan Zhi in all red. kinda glad that Lu Wu Yi kinda matches that vibe. I think it suits her a lot more.

As someone who deeply appreciate The Blue Whisper, I find Love Beyond the Grave somewhat hollow. In The Blue Whisper,…
Yeah, I agree. It kind of lost me after episode 12. It was quite unique up until that point.

It was captivating to see Duan Xu’s backstory reveal and how he literally went in and soloed an entire enemy base, then had that duel with Fifteen, who ideologically opposes him, leading to that clash.

I get it, he is literally powerless in the void, being a mortal in a supernatural setting.

But like, why is he acting like this?

Yeah, it’s a darker, noir take on the xianxia and xuanhuan genres. Everything from the color palette to the sound design feels deliberate.

Even if you don’t see the artistic visions, after just a few episodes you can already tell it’s very different from other shows in the same genre.
