Something to consider, LWY is the only person who can use magic, while WWY can't.

This either implies WWY can't because she is in someone else's body and not her own. So does this mean LWY is in her past self's body?

I havent watch Moonlight mystique, but for Love In Pavillion they when to the future. But it all does the same thing, show us and overarching story/foreshadowing. Like for LiP they all learn they were going to die.

He is getting to know her world and who she really is. He is feeling a little insecure because of the following
1. Yan Ke
2. He Simu is being cold and heartless and pushing him away.

In fact, the way his actions are portrayed makes him come across as immature as a character, at least in my view. Some people might like their ML this way, but others might find it cheesy or even cringy.

I understand that people enjoy a cutesy, multifaceted ML, but that often comes at a cost when it’s overused for comedic relief.

Also, given the ancient setting, how young he is isn’t the same as how young someone would be in real life. And I’m just going to guess that you probably don’t know many young people who have been in active war zones and killed multiple combatants. That kind of experience literally changes your psyche.

Because he is a mortal in the void, yes, that makes sense. But again, it’s about how it’s portrayed. They could have approached it differently to show how powerless mortals feel in a world of supernatural beings.

But again, it’s a fantasy drama, so realism isn’t the most important thing. So pointing out that he’s young or whatever is irrelevant. These aren’t objective truths, and I’m saying this because what you’re arguing isn’t an objective truth either.

I like the ML actor, I just think the characterization is too jarring. Like I said, it feels cheesy and borderline cringey at times. It only started to bother me in episodes 15 and 16.

I know some people like that in their ML, so I get why Frustrated Noona calls it a rom-com.

non chalant, carefree young general ? some adjective I would not use to describe him till after episode 12.

It feels really jarring compared to how he was in episodes 1–12, where he came across as much more calculated, intelligent, and at times even arrogant. Sure, he’s not actively fighting a war anymore, so some shift makes sense, but this feels like too much.

It sad to see, they really ramp it up in episode 15 and 16.... it borderline cheesy and kind of ruined the experience.

Formless Moon Sect is not what it seem to be, there a reason why we see the flash back of WWY feeling guilty committing those actions. She also want to free the clan implying there something forcing them to do these thing. She also ok with cutting her tail and being a mortal. So yeah it 100% a cult and they are mess up.
