I appreciate your insightful comments but I need to point out one thing. Yes, it is 2026 and laws have changed but it takes more than laws to change the heart and the mind. There are many couples who are dealing with the very same intense issues with their family who sincerely believe that homosexuality is wrong. You can call it homophobic or whatever but it does not matter to those individuals. So the struggle continues. I myself am still a work in progress. I have eight granddaughters and three grandsons. My oldest granddaughter’s mother is gay. That is one reason she and my son divorced. When I first met her I thought she was a nice person. When my son informed me she was gay I never saw her as any different than when I first met her. Frankly, my son was no saint. Gay or not I dont think they would have made it. She is a loving and hardworking person. She raised my granddaughter well. When my granddaughter graduated from high school she invited my husband and myself as well as my other two adult children and my granddaughter’s family to her home for the graduation celebration. I still have the group picture we took. It was a glorious time. I didnt wonder who was gay and who was not. I just wanted my granddaughter to be surrounded by good people who cared for her and truly loved her. Please forgive me for diverting from the series. I stumbled upon bls a few years ago while grieving the death of my husband. It opened my eyes and my heart. I have my tissue box ready for the next four episodes. Take care.

Just finished ep 8 and I can finally relax and enjoy the next four episodes. The momma and intrusive wife are out of the picture and the brother is tucked away under the covers of his lover. Now I can buckle up and get ready for some real fun! Nothing like getting back at a former lover who you poured your heart into only to be casually discarded and tossed aside. I hope Lu Cheng makes Yi Chen cry for mercy. My only wish is that neither one dies even if they dont end up together. On another note I hope whoever the stylist is for this series gets a special award. From head to toe it has been a long time since I have seen this much attention paid to the visual aspects of the main characters. Damn they look so hot…in every scene!

I finally broke down and looked at ep 7. The acting by the mother was on point and so realistic. The scenes between Lu Feng and Yi Chen were tinged with angst and betrayal on both sides. The confrontation with the brother and his lover deepen the emotional schism and pose yet another dilemma. It is so easy to point fingers when looking from the outside in. Having come from a very intense family upbringing( yes we were loud and not above getting physical) I can understand why some may see Lu Feng as toxic. Growing up we had another saying for it. We would say they love hard. Now if I can just get past this next episode I may be able to hang in
there until the end. Keep those spoilers coming.

Thank you ! I am really enjoying reading your comments and the different perspectives. Thanks for keeping the remarks directed at the characters and the storyline itself. I really can only stand to look at short clips. Too many triggers. That may change depending on the ending which I hope will not be sad or open ended.

That is also why I can only look at bits and pieces at a time. Unfortunately I can relate to her because I grew up in her world. When my cousin’s young son came out as gay I stayed quiet. My cousin disowned his son. His mother threw him into the street. His grandmother said nothing. His brother and sisters turned their back on him. He fled. For awhile we kept in touch on social media but then it was like he vanished. We did not deal with it correctly. We were too ashamed. I should have reminded myself how my father handled it years earlier when he found out his nephew was gay. He accepted him with love and kindness. I still have a picture of him attending a family gathering at our home. His mom, my mom, our grandfather all embraced him. My dad’s side of the family handled it the right way. My mother’s side of the family did not.I wish you peace and happiness.

What you are saying sounds good and makes perfectly good sense. It also calls for empathy and unconditional love. However the reality is that this mother actually represents the majority and not the minority in most countries including those that on the surface preach tolerance and equality. Unfortunately I have watched sons bend under the pressure. Never underestimate the love between a mother and her son. Even I have questioned why this segment had to be included but in the context of the overall storyline it had to be told with no filter or dilution. If it causes one to feel empathy and compassion for either of the two male lovers the goal has been accomplished.

I am loving the storyline with Nao and Suer. It feels
authentic and real. Unfortunately the fight between the two rival teams is not uncommon in some areas. Even professional teams have come to blows. I am also starting to like Suer’s brother.

Short and sweet! I really enjoyed it! I was able to binge watch in one day! The storyline was believable. The main leads had great chemistry.

In my country it is known as conservative religious fanaticism…..I know of at least one mother who was a prime example. Under the banner of religion and devotion to the will of God all three of sons obeyed her without hesitation and married her handpicked spouses. What appeared on the surface to be bliss was anything but that. Two ended in divorce only after her death. The third one was masked in self deprivation and emotional bondage. Thank you for your sharp awareness.

I agree and I understand this is fiction but it still makes my blood pressure go sky high when I think about the mental and emotional abuse.

I have come to the same decision. I have little or no tolerance for thirsty females who are so desperate for a man they will sink to any level. I feel the same way about these homophobic and caustic, malicious parents. This is depicted in so many Asian films. Are the parents actually that controlling and domineering. I can understand wanting the best for your child. I have three myself. But in the end it is their lives and they should feel free to choose their own path to happiness. See you after ep 12.

I am loving this but dreading what is to come. This reminds me too much of Life: Love on the Line. So many wasted years spent trying to conform and go against one’s true self. Lol. ..I think I will stop at this point and wait until it is over and the two couples are happily together. Personally I never find the interjection of a female third party in bls at all entertaining. Of course I will depend on your spoilers to fill me in on the angst and despair. Take care.

I agree but I am glad it went up from a 7.7 at one point to an eight.

I just finished watching and this definitely goes on my rewatch list. I do not consider the ending a sad one because it is evident that whatever time Jo han has he will die looking at the person he loves the much and Ryu will grieve his loss but he too will find consolation in knowing they were together at the end. Jo han loved Ryu so much he did not want to be a burden but at the same time he wanted Ryu with him at the end and his wish came true. This was truly a beautiful story of love between two gay men.

This is so much better than the ratings. If you are looking for a romantic story filled with loving acceptance and a bright rainbow full of bliss this may not be for you. But if you can face the heartwretching truth and deal with the raw reality of the physical and emotional trauma that being gay means for still so many than join me in watching this awesome tale. If you can bear to watch it to the end maybe you can join me in having more empathy and compassion for those who are born different. They want the same as you and I…to be treated equally, to be free to live a life free of malice and hatred, to be free to love who they choose without fear of being ostracized and demonized. Somewhere in the world is my gay cousin. He has been estranged from the family since he came out. This movie is dedicated to those like him. I hope he is somewhere happy and safe. I hope he is living his truth. Kudos to everyone connected with this beautiful tale of love in its purest form.

Ok that’s a wrap….I got the ending I wanted. This has been a thrill from start to wonderful finish. Loved the aftercredits tidbit. When I saw Great from Wandee Goodday my heart started to flutter. Is this a way of setting us up for the next Only Friends? I need more Boston and Khao and First….

This is giving me Secret Relationships and Addicted vibes. The good news is we get two episodes a week. This is giving me chills already. I know this is going to be a bumpy ride but I am putting my seat belt on ! I love the main leads !
