I just finished ep 7 and I cant believe we still have five more episodes. He has finally left but he is still not standing up to his toxic family. I would have told them all to go to hell and hung up on the brother. So far this is just one toxic and/or sadistic episode after another. I dont even like him with the fake brother in law. The brother in law seems to have his own issues. What is it with he and the old boyfriend. They all give me the creeps. My philosophy has always been I can do bad all by myself. Peace is a wonderful thing. He has got to learn to stand up for himself or he will be miserable all of his life. Even the sex cant be that good to endure being physically and mentally abused. A happy ending for me would be his hitting it big in the stock market, lighting up a cigarette and telling all of them, including the boyfriend to go to hell. I would change my telephone number and get a ticket to another country. He is just so damn frustrating! Ughhh!
Ok I have had enough of Xiao Fan! It is time for him to get a backbone! His family and his wife are hideous but people treat you the way you let them! Even Bei Lu needs an attitude adjustment! I had an uncle like that. But I noticed he didnt treat every one like that! My mother and the oldest sister would bark back and he knew to turn that narcissistic bull off! I would have cut them all off a long time ago! I hate leeches!
This is so good it is scary. With all that had transpired this year in the bl industry it really makes me very empathic toward those actors and actresses who just want to pursue their dreams but have to sacrifice so much in regards to their personal lives. At this point it is hard to say how this will end. Of course I am rooting for Zhen and Zhang but the pressure on each is so intense. I really have suspensions about that assistant. And it looks like he is not the only one with evil motives. Kudos to the entire production team.
Ep 8…all I can say is Lord Have Mercy…ump ump ump! This episode had it all… angst mixed with passion, reconciliation, physical and emotional tension. I loved it!
I am loving this. As much as I love the mls Pond is playing the heck out of being stupid! Chat just cant do anything right! I almost feel sorry for him. I see more trouble ahead for Phob and Tinn. There will undoubtably be more obstacles . This is a real roller coaster of emotions and I have my tissues ready.
Lol..you are right. I dont like the characters. That is my prerogative. Twists and turns or not I am expressing my reaction to the scenes shown so far. My opinion is not going to change what has already been written and filmed. I have made no comments about the actors. They are playing the roles they were assigned and are obviously doing a great job if they can stir up this generally calm and passive person’s blood pressure.
Big Jane is clearly toxic. He likes to play mind games with people. And he is physically and emotionally abusive. I dont find people like him appealing but some people are drawn to “bad “ boys. He needs a shrink. He is the type that feels if he cant have you no one can have . He even said it! And he is a stalker too! All these red flags and Lil Jane is still drawn to him. He needs help too! Dan better watch his back. I. really feel sorry for Little Jane. This is what sadistic manipulators do! At this point I want to shoot Big Jane myself!
I just bingewatched this drama and it was a breathe of fresh air . No toxic, cringey third parties . For once the fl and ml leads stayed true to their hearts. Even the way the parents handled the revelation about the parentage of the fl was handled so well. I relate to that situation. I was adopted at an early age by my mother’s husband. He was the only father I knew until truth was revealed to me . He was the one who took me to the library every Saturday. He was the one that picked me up from college whenever I called. He was the one that walked me down the aisle on my wedding day. He was the one who babysat my first child when I returned to work. He was my dad. I did meet my biological father. I also met his wife and other children. My mother even accompanied me to their home. We remained cordial until his death. On another note the extra bonus in this series was the attention to the visual details and fashion. As a bonafide fashionista I enjoyed the various fashion designs. Even the earrings were a work of art. Even the menswear were so avant garde. For me this series was a solid 8/10.
I am watching ep 6 for the second time and I am trying to imagine what it was like to be on the set while filming Gemini and Fourth. What an awesome experience to be a witness to such beautiful and raw talent. I dont know of any bl series that has touched me like this one. Maybe it is because of my own very strict and conservative upbringing. Despite everything organized religion still remains fixed in its opposition to same sex relationships and the transgender community. But I believe that there are those like myself who are ever learning and ever evolving. When I look at the last scene when the Father embraces both Barth and Tanrak it is like God saying come to me my children . Welcome home.
I just finished ep 7 and the parts I disliked the most are the parts with the girlfriends. Whether it is a heterosexual or same sex relationship I hate clingy, manipulative females. I am just not built that way. Never have been. I am not jumping through hoops for no man. If my soulmate of 48 plus years was here he would tell you I dont have that kind of energy or time. I think too much of myself. I really hope the two guys end up together. The two girlfriends come off as too insecure for me. I will probably just fast forward during their appearance. I come to bls for the guys. Adding female girlfriends, romantic troupes always feel intrusive to me unless they are like the female characters in Hidden Rivalry or Semantic Error. Dont hate me. That is just how I feel personally. The women I grew up with were all badass and confident.
It shocks me that this is both of their acting debuts. They are so much better than so many already. Micro-expressions,…
So very true! My cousin was involved with a guy who was grappling with his sexual identity. It must have been so excruciating. On the surface he was trying to have the life his mother wanted. He even told my cousin about his inclinations. I think he really did love her. They even married. The wedding was elegant and beautiful. But love was not enough. My cousin did not consider it cheating. She actually empathized with him. They divorced. They remained friends. I dont think he was ever able to come out to his mother. She wanted grandchildren so badly. This series is such a reflection of how trauma engulfs ones life. The actors playing the main leads are so good. They send shivers up my spine. They are so intense.
I dont know why but I am loving this….sometimes reality feels like fantasy and sometimes fantasy feels likes reality…this series takes what is real and what is not real to a whole new level!
P Jane is clearly a red flag and has issues we are sure to find out about! The logical thing would be to stay away from him but in reality there are people who will gladly buy whatever it is he is selling! I have always been interested in what motivates a person to walk into a minefield knowing the outcome. That is my sole motivation for watching this. I have known a PJane or two in my life. They could be sweet as pie one moment but would bash a sister or brother’s head in within the next moment and not flinch. At this point I don’t feel sorry for the other Jane. I just wonder how long will it be before he experiences the real PJane. I am thoroughly hooked.
I really really love the main leads. They look so good together. There is a sincerity and loveliness in their performance. It is a sweet story of love and friendship. I also liked the best friend. I hope to see the main cast in future productions. I enjoyed it. I bingewatched in one day.
I'm honestly so tired of this discussion. I'm exhausted by people constantly arguing about whether something is…
Thank you. You are so right. I have personally seen both sides of the coin. My gay cousin on my father’s side of the family was accepted and embraced by his family. He came out when he was a teenager. I still remember him visiting and our going shopping. Flamboyant best describes him. I marveled at how confident and proud he was. And that was in the sixties! However, on my mother’s side things did not go well at all for that gay cousin. He was tossed out of the house by his mom. He went to stay with his father who was my cousin. He was met with verbal and physical abuse. His grandmother stood by and said nothing. His siblings shunned him. He fled to only God knows where. I tried to stay in touch via social media but suddenly nothing. Since that time his aunt and grandfather have tried to reach him with no luck. That has been over fifteen years ago. He would be in his early thirties now. I just hope he is somewhere happy and safe. Of the two scenarios I prefer the one with the gay cousin dancing and laughing and happily surrounded by loving family and friends.
By the tone of the various comments I would say that Ayou has achieved another goal. Whether intentional or not this series has elicited serious and contemplative dialogue on this series. The comments have been varied and a number of arguments have been made , some pro and some con. That is great in my opinion because it shows how this series was able to touch minds and hearts. What I also find encouraging is the comments have been largely directed at the characters and the role religion plays in the lives of many. The director chose the Catholic faith because that is what he is most familiar with. But having been raised in a ultra conservative religious environment and having friends and relatives who were and still are steeped in the Catholic faith I can personally say the viewpoints presented mirror one another. You can love God deeply and not abandon the faith and still be true to your heart. That is the essence of this series for me personally. My sincere thanks to all of you who correctly chose to focus on the elements of the series itself . Take care.
