Among so many qualities, one thing that Moonlight Chicken showed is that this fixed couple thing is bullshit.…
I noticed that immediately and I like it. Too much emphasis on shipping when the real focus should be on the acting abilities of these talented actors. We see in this series what a good script, excellent directing, awesome editing and quality acting can accomplish.
-Spoiler-Quite a lot of people on twt are really pissed at Wen for still sleeping with Alan after their breakup…
Truth be told this is actually more common than you think. I remember a friend telling me she still had sex with her partner even though officially they were done. He literally told her he did it for the same reason that Wen told Alan…he felt sorry for her. That’s when she finally accepted that it was over. Sometimes the head says No but the body says why not. Lol
I understand what you’re saying but I like the eight episodes because we get to what really matters the most. I find myself fast forwarding or skipping parts in some series that are 12 episodes or longer because it feels like they have to create drama or add another couple or third party just to fill up the space
And the thing is, he didn't do anything wrong. At the beginning I thought he was too clingy, too possessive, too…
This is why I love the realism portrayed. Most people assume that either one or the the other person had to do something wrong but that’s not always the case. Even Wen admits he stayed because he cared but in the end he had to face the truth. Reminds me of that song You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling by the Righteous Brothers…lol..I am really telling my age.
My School President 8.5 Moonlight Chicken 8.4 Never Let Me Go. 8.2 So far the top three for 2023….who will match or come close in the next months. I’m obsessed with this cast . Time for me to rewatch The Eclipse (8.3) with First and Khaotung.
I can’t believe how many memories this is bringing back. Over 40 years ago a coworker invited me to a family gathering. While there her nephew and his wife arrived with their infant baby. They were both deaf. Their baby was not. My friend along with the other family members all knew sign language. It was such a wonderful experience. They embraced the couple and just as the priest stated they treated them just like you would anyone else. I even remember at one point one of the family members suggested they go to the movies. My friend said they loved going to the theatre and to movies. It was such a fun experience. I had stored that way back into my memory bank until I watched Heart and Li Ming. I know next week is going to be the confrontation with Heart’s parents but I’m hoping for a happy resolution.
Usually when there is such a compilation of bl stars one or two of the actors seem to be overlooked or just there as fan bait but this series should get a gold cup for casting. They are all just awesome. Each one hits a home run when up to bat. I first saw Earth in Love By Chance. He finally got his breakthrough in A Tale of A Thousand Stars and hasn’t looked back. The same goes for Khaotung. I first saw him in Touhon Chonlate and he stole my heart in Never Too Late and The Eclipse. And what can I say about First. He was outstanding in Not Me and The Eclipse. I became a fan of Earth with A Tale of a Thousand Stars. Of course our newest gems are the youngsters Gemini and First. They shine in My School President. Imagine having two back to back hits. Mark who also was in The Warp Effect, I Promised You the Moon and My School President is one to watch. Of course we have to mention our lone female. Finally a non toxic female in a bl , View is a gem. I saw her in Never Too Late and 10 Years Ticket. She is impressive. Another plus is how well each actor is into their role. I completely forget about other characters I’ve seen them portray. That to me is the sign of a true actor and not falling into the trap of being typecast. I only wish the rating was higher. The entire project has been amazing and it’s message of inclusion is a breath of fresh air.
Relationships are complicated and more so when one party doesn't want it to end or let go. It was obvious that…
Very reasonable questions but I have known people who were together for over 15 and 20 plus years and suddenly one person walks out. It baffled me. Could one incident cause such a 180 degree turn? Years later I still see these people. They’ve gone on with their lives. They are even cordial to one another but I’m still in a quandary. That’s the vibe I get from Jim and Alan. How can we love so hard and end up alone? Loving all the questions this series is conjuring up.
This series hits me close to home. I cried a lot while watching ep 3 and 4. The story depicts many facets of real…
I think the essence of a really great bl is when it touches the viewer in a personal way. At that moment it transcends being entertainment and becomes much much more.
This show is really good. Not only the Mleads are good but all the cast! The scene with Gaipa and his mother was…
Yes as a mother Gaipa’s character captures the essence of true motherly love. You have to be supportive and strong in front of your child but when all alone you cry. No mother wants to see her child in pain and alone. We all want them to find true love and happiness. I’m so glad you mentioned her. Again, this cast is awesome.
I am literally mesmerized by the Ost Tomorrow by Ford Arun. I just can’t stop watching. It has me in tears. Already 2023 has been a year of highs and lows. The lyrics to this song are so hopeful. So far for me this is one of the best BLs of 2023. It and To Sir With Love are in a class all by themselves.
I am loving this more and more. Tying in the physical deafness and making the connection to the other’ experiences in each of the others’ lives was so beautiful! I’ve lived long enough to have experienced the innocence, the longing, the loneliness, being betrayed and being the betrayer, unrequited love and all the other depictions of life that is being shown. We are all deaf at times. We hear what we want to hear. We tune out what is most painful. We refuse to let go. We are at the halfway point so there are more tears and angst to come. I’m all in.
