This drama got off to a great start. Excellent intro of both characters and the world presented. A real pleasure…
Thank you so much for your comment! I have not seen this drama yet, and I would be only watching for this more mature cinematography and Wu Lei, (I also like some Historicals๐ ). I am grateful for this information or your honest opinion about this drama. I appreciate it. I may check it out later.
I do often get annoyed when the family/others/secondary characters have way too much screen time, sometimes more than the main leads(depending on the story and characters). I also, usually prefer kind, and more mature female leads, not overly childish or spoiled etc. Hmm. I may check this drama out, so I am grateful to have more of an idea of what to expect, and if I really want to watch it.
I hope that the female lead's character is quite a bit improved compared to her novel version. In the novel, she is ( at least up to chapter 41) rather reckless, too quick to get angry, somewhat dumb and Annoying! Drama people, please don't fail us!๐๐ฅบ๐
Also, it is a little confusing about the: White King, Green King, and Red King...๐คช
I'm sorry. I am still in the fairly early part of the novel. I am not sure how long it is. If I had the detailed information you wanted, I would gladly give it to you. ๐ I do know that after lots of suffering and some misunderstandings, it is supposed to be a happy ending. That is at least what I heard. I also don't know how much of the drama they will change from the novel.

If it is a Kdrama, I will usually test out the first 2-4 episodes to see if I want to continue watching it. If it is a Cdrama etc the episode amount may differ.
But some dramas you just don't want to be dragged through the mud for. It isn't worth it to you. "Why Her" was one of those dramas for me. I love the male lead, but I didn't want to have to wait for the drama to explain why she was currently so terrible, and give her tons of excuses and have her make her way back to a top lawyer again. Often, I just don't have much interest in court dramas, so it wasn't worth it for me.๐คทโโ๏ธ Maybe some day that drama will be....even though it is unlikely.

Well, Alchemy of Souls has some interesting things to it. I am okay with the Actress, just not her character.
The funny thing is, I was not a fan of Moon, but since watching this drama, I have begun to like her more. Haha.๐ It is interesting how appearances and characters can do that to you.
In terms of not really liking an actor or actress, I agree that it can be rather hard to enjoy a drama when that happens. I also think that sometimes people forget that some of us are not going to like an actor/actress or characters or drama, and THAT IS OKAY and normal. We are not all going to agree on everything. There is no need for some people to try to censor others so much...Talk about entitlement issues...
Sorry, for my mini rant there. Thank you for your kindness. ๐ค
Watch cafe minamdang and you can add that FL as well to your long list of "I hate this FL" lol...she might even…
Maybe. ๐ Why to you say that? Are you trying to imply something about me?๐คจ But the word Hate's meaning is quite a bit stronger than just dislike. I definitely don't hate this female character. She just has a few things that can be a little annoying or frustrating, but not too bad.
Lol you don't seem to like imperfect fls. Also why people have sml in alchemy of souls? Just bcz he is only good…
Haha. Do you know me? Because you are acting like you do. Can I assume something about you as you have for me? Are you a Jae Wook fangirl or the main leads shipper? Because you came on a little strong as if you were jealous or feeling threatened. That is the impression you are giving me. Did you see the F.L. and 2nd M.L. videos on YouTube? Min Hyun's acting may not be the best, but it is better than some other rookie actors. He is more attractive in my opinion and I knew of him before Jae Wook. I like Yul's maturity, intellect and fighting and power abilities.
One of the main reasons why I am starting to get more Second Lead Syndrome, is because (except for this last episode) for the most part, the female lead character treated him "better" or with more respect than the main lead, and Yul could see through her crap- manipulation and lies. On YouTube, a few people were saying that they saw the main leads as too student and pupil and that it prevented them from seeing them more romantically. Someone else said that they felt that the F.L. and 2nd M.L. had more romantic chemistry and that the male lead seemed to be more of the "annoying brother" type of chemistry. Even though I thought when the main leads were laying next to each other (when he was freezing) the chemistry was good, I can still definitely see were these other people's points of view are coming from.
I somewhat did like both pairings. The 2nd male lead and her character's chemistry is really good and I like the sweet parts of their history. I can't help wanting to see them together and having a happy ending even though his family or clan relation is a cause of conflict for them.๐ฅบ
And finally, I DON'T like the way the female character treats the main Male lead. Several or many girls would be having a fit if it was reversed. I don't like jerky and manipulative or usually murderous male or female leads (unless he has too as a warrior, but as a last resort or in order to protect/save a life). I do not enjoy watching overly morally Grey individuals as the main "hero" etc. Any way, I don't care that much about her being an assassin in the past. It is the way she drastically manipulates things and people to get her desired outcome, not caring how harmful it could be/affect others. She risked the male lead's life and then risked his life and everything around it AGAIN, without ASKING his opinion or approval. Yes, he can be lazy, but how dare she threaten or attempt to set on fire the place they were staying at and that other guys things he built, just to try to FORCE the male lead to do what is ultimately good for HER. Her actions are making it hard to ship them together for me.
If you don't like what I think about her/the drama etc, that is NOT my problem.
As for airing Korean dramas go; this one is the best (in my opinion). Alchemy Souls is good, and even though I like the actress, I DON'T like her character very much in it. I am also starting to get 2nd Male lead syndrome...๐ฉ Why Her, I don't like the female lead at all. I am not much in favor of law dramas either. I dropped it after the 1st or 2nd episode.
This female lead character isn't my favorite as well, but in some ways she is a bit more likable (so far, from episode 7 or 8)...I enjoy the mystery and Yeo Jin Goo...๐
