Relationship questions:Is Ji Yao Jin Chao's cousin from her mother's side??Does Jin Chao have any other siblings…
Yes, Ji Yao is her cousin from her mothers side. Ji Yao's Dad and Jin Chao's mum are siblings. She has a younger brother born of the same mother I think he is introduced in ep 7/8. So the Gu siblings are 3, 2 legit heirs and the concubine born daughter
Chen Xuan Qing, is the 5th Chen sons adopted son (It's still not explained how that is possible) as he died young so there is a mystery there. Also, Chen Xuan Qing's bio dad is briefly mentioned but we don't know who is real family is yet either
I didn't watch drama yet. I am not completely sure, but I think they just could adopt a son to continue the line.…
That's so weird considering, they arady have a 3rd and 4th Chen son alive, supposedly 1st and 2nd who is not shown. Plus the 5th son who died was mentioned as being a concubine born son...
I haven't watched episode 8 as i'm waiting for it to come on wetv, i can't stand the mango tv subs
I know they introduce her brother, but is her the concubines son or her mothers son? The relationships are kinda hard to follow, especially with all the 'uncle/nephews' considering they look like they are age ments, and the 5th Chen son supposedly dying as a child, but having a grown up adopted son, like is that just wrong translations or what is actually happening?
Wait, is episode 6 only avaible on Mango TV? not on Wetv or IQIYI vip?
Also, explain to me how the Fifth master could have an adopted son, when he died as a child? Who is Jinrou that lady Han mentioned? does the Gu family have only the 2 daughters?
I also don't understand why lady Han married the dad, when he clearly has a love match with the concubine lol
This was a solid watch for me. First half was 10/10, but the second half still great but 9.5. Felt draggy and felt the telling of the story was lacking in some parts. I loved the OST and the cinematography and choice of light in this was just superb!! I also, struggled to follow the political plot properly tbh
I loved every single character, the good ones and the villains!! They were all written well and with great depth!!
I empathised alot with Wei Yan in the end!! He got tricked, then everything went to shit like a domino effect, and he couldn't escape his guilt leading him to more wrongs... sucks. I do wish Xie Zheng was there with him in the end though, but lovely to see he hallucinated it and it was beautifully portrayed.
I would have liked if Mandi stayed alive tbh, as I don't think the new addition to the pig butchers squad added anything of value apart from being the old lady's grandson from lin'an. In the last ep with they all knelt in front of the Zhao's saying they returned home, I had wished he was there!!
Gongsun and Qi Shu deserved more screen time too as a couple!! especially in the finale episode too (not including the what if epilogue)
Just binged the first 4 episodes and they were really fun!! I wonder what the history is between the Grand Prince and Queen Mother, like did they date when younger?
Also the way the previous king treated his son was truly diabolical and the queen mother killed her husband? wtfff
You would think it would actually help her cause for him to marry down, so why is she so obsessed with ruining it?

I really hope this gets cleared up!
