FL as majority of them is a self-centered, ungrateful, uncaring, do-whatever-you-want, judgmental C who literally doesn't do anything she should do & expects everything to magically appear in front of her... she's way beyond stuck up thinking always she can just do whatever she wants & plot armor will simply protect her from all consequences period (if roles were reverse & MC was behaving 1% of how FL's usually do he'd be in jail in 2 seconds flat... -.-), instead of apologizing for her wrong doings both to MC job & personal relation, she goes on being condescending, ungrateful & completely unapologetic...

SML (i guess? the usual 3rd wheel for pointless love triangle bs that asians can't live without & it's always a 2 guy 1 hoe love triangle as well...), has apparently a god complex thinking he can do whatever he wants, blackmail ppl & force them to do what he wants, cuz he's what? some nobody worthless "director" of a show that wouldn't exist nor he would or his team without the sponsors & investors, the very sponsor he trying to blackmail & force into doing what he wants? yeah, show me in one realistic situation where that ever works... (news flash jackass, SPONSORS DON'T NEED YOU, you need THEM!!! it is NEVER the other way around no matter what...)

MC not much to say, i wish he had more balls though i guess, but since it's a so called "romantic" asian drama, MC & balls never go together, as no MC actually has what we real ppl like to call a spine & a pair of jingles to make him do what needs doing & stand up for himself, since this is pretty much every MC in every asian drama it's not worth even listing as a complaint anymore it's just a "feature" we can't do anything about...

oh & all of this homicide inducing rage for the audience in a whooping 1 episode & a half aka i haven't even finished 2 full episodes & i can't stand the level of stupidity they shoved into the show in that short amount of time -.-

(i mean seriously dude cmon... i'm fukken tired of FL's getting away with whatever crap they want cuz they got the jigglies & a hole... while when MC just wakes up the wrong way everyone shits on him like no tomorrow... this fukken double standard & absolute bullshit of inequality while always whining about "gender equality" even inside actual shows is beyond retarded... & asian shows never fail in this, i've yet to see one that didn't abuse this beyond reason)

pretty sure you & me are watching 2 different shows an entire dimension apart... cuz i watched 3 episodes so far believing all comments about how insanely good this show is & i've seen absolutely 0 of anything being described in anyones comment, all i found is infinite bore fest dragging everything on so hard it gives you a headache & FL who gives up & runs away the moment something went wrong for the 1st time like the typical FL in asian dramas who just run away from everything & got no backbone to stick around (ofc except when it involves creepy loser side characters, they just stick around those & trust them without question till it's too late & plot armor needs to step in...)

everyone keeps saying how good this is, yet here i am 3 episodes in & i want to kill myself -.- how the F is this good, nothing but boring dragfest, typical creepy old fart always creeping around FL cuz he's too pathetic to confess his feeling decades ago, so he chooses to be an obsessive stalker instead & gets 500000 worse when MC shows up to show interest in FL & ofc then this MC is just pathetic... they trying to play teenagers in school while being grown ass adults is already disturbing enough to top it off he's acting childish all the time, FL who just gives up the moment something went wrong doing the typical FL setup "i gotta be moody and blame myself for everything in the universe then run away from it cuz that's how shit gets fixed" trope... then like i said the whole story so far is beyond boring, nothing is going on anywhere in any direction, everything is just dragging on like a dogs ass on a carpet after it took a shit -.-


Jesus christ, i swear to freaking god ya'll watching this are listening in language you don't understand & reading subtitles you can't read & watching something else while you got this show on & then pretend the show was good... cuz there's not a single thing you can tell me that happened that'll convince me or anyone else to force themselfs into watching 23 more episodes of this boring slop fest, not a damn chance... considering this is supposed to be a romantic drama with sports as it's story setup, the way FL is behaving so far, there's 0 chance you can expect any kind of romance till last 4-5 episodes maybe, at that point why the F am i watching a romance drama without romance? might as well go watch olympic games for sports alone, i'd get better content out of it then watching this -.-

this is why i gave up watching Wuxia shows... pisses me off every time i watched one as no one can do a romance version properly...

What i'm saying here isn't a spoiler cuz i'm not describing this story (though technically it's a plot thing that pretty much every Wuxia type story has & i've yet to find one that doesn't), if they could somehow learn to not force some sort of sacrifice all the time from either ML or FL who ever is the one with powers & take that away or severely depower them so they could make them appear more "equal" & give them their end together, then wuxia type shows could perhaps be better, cuz you don't build the whole image & hype on one or both being amazing, powerful, etc... just to end up taking everything away & making them more common then the common man just for some delusional way of doing "happy ending" for them.

So yeah as much as i wanted to watch this show, veil of shadows, pursuit of jade & few others, i can no longer bring myself in doing so as shows like "Rules The World" & "Love Me Kill Me" for example among the many completely ruin it for me as they always destroy & utterly depower the one with actual power making them pathetically weak & worthless in that sense all the while from the beginning they always hype them up as either "The Mythical One, stronger, unbeatable, etc.." & then you get an ordinary peasant in the end after they get together with their counter-part lead just for some sake of "sacrifice for the one they love" when those are pointless in the way they're done in those scenarios & their loved ones should of ended up in the way they did if not via forced scriptwriting for sake of drama and like i said sacrifice for the one they love...

Where's the romance? where's the love? oh right, ain't none, just pure stupidity in writing & endless cringe... just like those freaking rom-coms where they force comedy every 2 seconds for the sake of having comedy while it just ends up being cringe shitshow you're force to fast forward or drop the show -.-

i just binged 18 episodes & i do like it, but at the same time i'm frustrated cuz typical overused & idiotic cliches are constantly ruining the whole thing "-"

- the mother is driving me up the fucking wall for one (ML's mother that is), also what the fuck?! she forced her own child to do her bidding under the condition that if he does she'll help save his friend who ended up in a hospital from a bike crash, WHO THE FUCK TREATS HUMAN LIFE like some freaking food you trade in return for a favor (i couldn't care less what her story is, the moment this was shown it's game over, she's a fucking psycho with control issues & 0 ACTUAL care for her son...)

- ML himself drives me nuts cuz of his mother & typical chinese bullshit of 0 backbone to standup against your freak ass slave driving controlling parents (even when she's going behind his back & bullshit FL with stupid crap & threats, he's a fucking doormat that does absolutely nothing, try this shit outside asia and you'll be lucky if you see your own child ever again... we don't tolerate abusive & controlling retards in the rest of the world no matter who they are to us...)

- FL not much to dislike about her thankfully (actress playing the role is also amazing & that little laugh she does every now and then, absolutely freaking adorable), but she has that typical cliche for older women younger man relation setup where she's far more concerned about every dumbasses opinion around her rather then her own happiness & herself in general, so she's constantly on a infinite excuse train to feed her denial from accepting the truth & her own feelings... however like i said other then that typical cliche, she's quite fantastic & their chemistry (ML & FL) is quite lovely

So all in all it's not bad, but it's sometimes hard to watch without skipping parts... the only saving grace for me to keep watching is how ML & FL are together so far even though i feel like there's too much pointless dragging, the fact the mother isn't often on screen (i'd go on a homicidal spree otherwise thanks to that annoying cunt) & for once (so far in 18 episodes at least) no psycho obsessive stalker level or worse side ml, he's annoying but seems like so far at least he properly took no for an answer (unlike the dumbass side fl...)

@Taino technically speaking, that's not a love triangle that's one being an obsessive creep &/or stalker, a love triangle would be more where a woman is being cringe level indecisive dumbass who can't choose between 2 nor/or have an actual backbone enough to decide her own feelings, ACCEPT THEM & not mind everyone elses opinions and go with the person she know is best for her, which is how you end up with a love triangle cuz FL doesn't know how to say "fuck off" to a creep & plays a pathetic meek monkey who just goes with every flow up her ass...

See i was hoping for happier reply... i'm just too tired to get into another so called "romance" asian show where i have to wait 90% of the entire show to get to the romantic part of ML/FL, while suffering all kinds of insanity prior for those 90%, cuz for some reason, god forbid we'd have an actual romantic relationship between ML/FL from around start of show till end... it's like i'm watching a damn superman before he was superman over & over with a new dress on... like jesus christ just give me the "superman" part & stop giving me his story before he was that...

no it's not, i hate indecisive FL who have to constantly drag on a love triangle or more through the entire drama cuz they're to freaking pathetic, you either like one or the other, if you like both decide who you like more & is right for you and go with it from start to finish, but constantly having excuses to push away the right one & keep going with the wrong one cuz "braindead reasons" aka no backbone to actually stand on her own & admit her own feeling & truth when it comes to romance, till it's too late then we need plot armor to make ML & FL end up together...

Now okay to be fair i didnt finish watching "The Rational Life" cuz by episode 6-7 i nearly lost my mind, cuz everything was leading towards what i described above (watched another show called "Find Yourself" i believe was the title & it was pretty much 90% of what i said above from start to finish & when i saw same path unfolding with literal same signals from Rational Life i simply dropped it, i cannot for my own good health go through that insanity and pathetic display of whatever the F they deem as "romance" in shows like that...

Anyway no matter how it ends up later "The Rational Life" start is annoying as hell & even if it gets better later i doubt it's anytime soon & they'll keep dragging that crap on till that plot armor happy end needs to roll in for like last 2 or at most 3 episodes...

Yeah i know exactly the scene & i did like that as well, usually ML's need to be forced to think that like or something, but this one said it himself & i approve, i truly hope he goes for it without hesitation (i think the main reason behind it later will most likely be him trying to protect his nephew from his absolutely psychopathic evil mother or whatever she is to the kid, after all she even killed what was it again her husband or brother? i kinda skim through her scenes as she drives me nuts...)

Yeah we can only hope they drop the pointless love triangle by ep 5-6 or so, but i feel they'll just drag it out considering everything else that's already going on in the drama department of the story :/

actually unless the subtitles translated it wrong, he said he wanted to ascend the crown or something like that, not specifically wanting power itself, which has a whole different meaning then straight up saying he wants power as those are very different things.

i bet as more episodes come out, we'll be shown he's not hungry for power at all (atm from 4 episodes i watched, i don't get that feeling at all, but rather something else, though i won't go spoiling in case i'm wrong, but anyway i bet it's not power itself that he wants but something that sadly can only be achieved through taking said power, as if he gets the power, he'll have no issue giving it over to someone else once he achieves his actual goal, which is usually how it goes for the setup of such characters as MC has in this show)

Yeah i get that don't get me wrong, but unlike you i have no hopes anymore, like i said i guess i watched way too many asian dramas at this point (mainly k-dramas & c-dramas, i do want to do more j-dramas but i hardly find any i can actually enjoy sadly) that turn SML into a complete simp or just a psycho obsessive shit... :/ though for once more i'll give in to hope like you have & pray this isn't one of them, cuz like i said, so far apart from this SML bullshit, i absolutely love what i'm seeing from 1st 4 episodes, MC & FMC are just so fun to watch together, especially FMC's antics she keeps dishing out with MC are pure comedy (not those forced comedies that make you cringe, but legit comedy that makes you laugh out loud & enjoy the show)

yeah i give you the king part, but still that's literally just forced there to make some "legitimate" reason why he's creeping around... when in reality are you gonna see a KING order a prime minister to take him somewhere rather then those who actually serve for such functions or family members... like in this show everyone is pointlessly close to the king for same reasons as prime minster just to have somewhat legitimate reasons for being somewhere they shouldn't.

As far as prime minister & MC being friends, i'm somewhat doubting they're real friends as far as we've seen so far, i'd say MC has about maybe 1 actual friend & that's the person who serves as his secretary & is closest to him, everyone else he at best just acts close/friendly too.

Now also to drop another cliche connected to main side character clishe of creeping around FMC always, is the fact they for their ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do absolutely nothing, they don't confess, they don't actually act like someone who has feelings or more for FMC & so on, which is usually for majority of dramas anywhere between 10 to 20 years (depends on each story's setup), but the moment the drama start and MC enters the pictures the MSC goes full creep, stalker, pervert or down right rapist mode while all the while before for decade+ they're barely even considered actual friends with FMC, at best they're close to her among other ppl (very few dramas actually make them out as best friends or something, but all above still 100% applies as none of that ever changes)...

So now i'm supposed to completely glaze over that biggest bullshit ever & somehow pretend that simply not the side character nor FMC ever had time to date anyone that would somewhat force either to confess & so on, yet this can only happen when MC appears? ah cmon... i know this is a drama & an asian one at that, but ffs.... stop treating your viewers as fucking toddlers without brain, this isn't a teletubi shitshow where 5 year olds watch & have no clue what's actually going on, you know? :/

p.s you better expect the typical k-drama cliche of FMC leaving MC for some idiotic bullshit one sidedly pretending she's protecting him or whatever & also the absolutely pointless time skip until they finally get together at the end for a "happy end", which in total we'll get about 1 episode or a tiny bit more of actual real romance between MC & FMC in the entire shows runtime & that's so scattered about through all episodes that it feels nothing but a bullshit show about a creep side character who doesn't know how to fuck off & let everyone properly enjoy the show for what it's supposed ot be & the very reason why 90%+ viewers are here to begin with, the actual romance of MC & FMC and their antics that makes us smile...

Idk maybe i just watched so many asian dramas at this point i can see the whole fucking plot from before i watch the show that it actually ruins even what's good, cuz like i said they run on 1 script & that's repeating the same bullshit plot & cliches over & over without failure... among total dramas i watches so far i dare say maybe 2-3% were legit romance types as they claim to be without needless bullshit that other dramas force in that don't need to be there no matter what.

it's fair you feel how you feel, but to call her face generic face & not beautiful enough to mesmerize someone is going a bit over the line, you're also not taking this from a realistic (being in that situation) type of perspective, watching this from a screen as a tv show is completely different, then how you'd feel if you were in that situation with her...

imagine if donkeys could make 1 drama no matter if it's purely romance, comedy or romantic drama, but just imagine if they could make it without main side character always being obsessive stalking freak over FMC in 99% of k-dramas, c-drama & basically all around asian dramas?... oh god forbid something truly decent & proper would be done, nope always same old bs with disgusting stalking obsessive freak of a side character who doesn't know how to mind his own business & a pushover MC that never puts such a disgusting jackass in his place, ofc let's not forget a clueless FMC that doesn't seem to ever know how basic romance works, relationships (fake or real) & how to draw a proper line between other males in her life always acting as if she's dating the entire planet....

don't get me wrong i'm quite enjoying this Show as i tend to many Asian Dramas, MC & FMC also are quite fantastic together, but none of that is good enough when its completely ruined by the bs i mentioned above EVERY SINGLE TIME...

I mean let's put something many dramas do into the light as a point on this, since when do other ppl who are not strictly invited or permitted to be at someone's house constantly showing up & acting as if it's their house for example... like this donkey he's FMC's friend & yet he just walks into MC's PRIVATE residence & acts as if anyone on any level gave him permission to be there acting as if he's at hope & suddenly has absolutely no work to do, yet all other times he's nothing but a whining child about how much work he has all the time... & to top it all off this isn't even a normal persons private residence which isn't okay either!, but this is a Grand Princes to the royal crown private residence & he's nothing more then a mere prime minister & he has the audacity to act like that? in actual reality if someone would do shit like this, they'd be lucky if they walked away without being beheaded in such a environment as royalty the way it's presented in this story's setup...

Like i mean fiction is one thing, but there's also taking fiction too far... & there's also abusing one of the most annoying cliches that i guarantee you with my life on the line more then 80% of asian drama viewers hate... with a story like this, you have basically infinite drama both in politics, family infighting on both sides, from common betrayals to royal ones, typical psychos & so on... so throwing in the most abused & annoying cliche i mention before is beyond pointless ¬ needed in this story as it doesn't add to actual drama anymore & just serves as pure "piss off the viewers" aspect -.-

Fun fact, this is 90% of K-Dramas... absolutely ruined due to secondary or even further down the line morons who have no business being anywhere & yet they're everywhere where main leads are CONSTANTLY & often end up with more screentime then actual leads of the show ruining everything there is to ruin -.-
