Title A Dog and a Plane
I really love how Kanit and Toto are written. They feel like real adults: not perfect, not without flaws, just trying to navigate difficult lives the best they can. Kanit has no self-esteem, but he’s still sassy and resolute. That’s a hard combination to live with. At work and in life, it forces you to chase perfection, because it feels like the only way to earn respect, approval, and love. Toto has a big heart and a big mouth. On the surface he looks like a show-off, always ready to pick a fight, say something inappropriate, and flirt with Kanit nonstop... They work together because Toto, in his sometimes reckless, sometimes tender way, tries to teach Kanit that he can be loved as he is... Kanit is going through a rough time, but he’s still able to see past Toto’s provocations and understand that Toto is a genuinely good person. The sex scene is chaotic and full of lust, because the attraction between them has been obvious since episode 1... Kanit says reprehensible, cruel things, but Toto immediately makes it clear he won’t accept that kind of behavior. Kanit recognizes his mistake and apologizes. What happens next is completely believable for two adults in emotional chaos who are sexually attracted to each other... In this episode, more than any other, the two leads feel like real people... It also makes sense that Kanit uses sex to try to forget Lion... Pain doesn’t automatically make people better. Sometimes it pushes them to act irrationally, simply because they don’t know how to do better.
