I'm only halfway through but it's really grotesque, I don't know if I want to continue... I feel like you have to be somewhat of a horror fan to enjoy it. But it didn't hide it's nature, the very first scene shows you what kind of show it's going to be.
Also the calls of racism against people who don't like kaijin seems a bit silly when they literally transform into monsters and terrorize people. Like maybe they have some good reasons to be uncomfortable with that, telling them their terror is just "racism" doesn't really work as good social commentary...
And I don't understand how people even know they are kaijin when in human form? Like when Shunsuke walked into that restaurant to meet Aoi and the employee was like "Get out", how did she know?
In ep 2, Tomoya cuts off his shaggy long hair, with the worst scissors, a lot of struggle and poof! He has the haircut he always has in everything he acts in. x'D
Just finished ep 3 and this is such a cute drama! It's so cute and ridiculous and even has made me cry already like wtf? xD lmao. I wonder if they are hinting that the lead woman is a lesbian? I guess this is from a manga? Is she one in the manga? We so rarely get any lesbian dramas from Japan (or anywhere)...
The main character is so painfully unnaturally perky. Obviously it's cause something terrible is gonna happen to her but instead of ending up sympathetic to her character, you just end up annoyed.
This is a weird drama, it's like filmed theatre? There is a live audience, there is just one set, the acting is way over the top, and their voices have that slight echo you get in places made to amplify voices. Not for me, particularly.
The plot is paper thin and the characters are all very one-dimensional, I'm trying to slog through ep 5 but I think I'm giving it up. It's interesting the way it uses historical warlords but that's about where the interesting bit ends. It's too bad it doesn't have more of the cool futuristic stuff we saw bits of and that light sabre action we had at the beginning of ep 1... ~_~
The final ep is really something. They go to a mudslide after a storm but it's really just a trash heap. The scenes of them in slow mo, dramatically moving and tossing around trash to dramatic music was too much for me, lmao, I laughed until there were tears coming out of my eyes.
The annoying skaterboard dude makes his appearance in the final ep and is just as annoying as ever - they really messed up with the motivations for this character because it was mostly his own fault he hurt himself.
This drama was cheesy and ridiculous, but it was a fun ride and I'm glad I watched it.
This was such a cute and endearing drama, what the heck was ep 10... t.t And at least if something insane happened, I wish it had been related to the military/their job instead of that terrible personal situation of Baba's. Why don't they focus more on something related to the military. And the skateboard kid is so annoying. What is the scriptwriter/director thinking. -_- argh! lmao. Only one more ep to go tho, but after ep 10 I'm ready for it to end!
