Yup meanwhile Masahiro never stopped working and still kept getting offers, isn't that just wonderful how unfair…
While this is true, I fail to see how Erika has been bearing damage, let alone showing any remorse. Seems like she just went on a hiatus and returned while everyone around her forgives her. I reached out to one of the photographers Erika worked closely with and addressed my concern for their recent posts of her, unaware that she made her return until I was forwarded a post from the company Erika works for (I was also blocked after the exchange, which was really appalling, as I highly looked up to the photographer.) In fact, her return to the industry has been confirmed by her participation in Nippon Camera's 2021 edition , which emphasizes her career's "restart." Why do these two get a restart...? And why do the people around her seem to avoid this issue?
Update: She might return to the industry soon. According Flamme's official Instagram page (the JP company she works under), she has recently participated in a shoot. Quite frankly, I still think the timing is too early, and everyone around her has been too forgiving, despite the severity of her actions. Neither Flamme nor BH Entertainment have terminated their contracts with her, and from the accounts I follow, some influential Japanese film-makers still support her. Ever since I've found out about her swift recovery to the industry, I've been appalled by the seeming indifference by those around her, as she has only been pulled from future projects... BH Entertainment had to make an obligatory statement on her behalf, and although she not owe the public an apology, she should make a public statement before attempting to continue her career. That's the least she could do to salvage it. Otherwise, I truly do not believe she has repented. For the affair to be caught for the first time after three years means she and Masahiro must have been very calculating to keep it a secret. My sympathy is all for the Watanabe family; I can't overlook what the two have did as a "mistake."
