Unpopular Opinion
Okay unpopular opinion here- but I’m not too big a fan of this series.First off- I want to acknowledge that the cast is excellent- their acting is brilliant, and the production value, music etc everything is really good. That’s why I had such high hopes.
Unfortunately my experience is not too good- primary reason being the storyline. The plot feels just way too twisted. But more than that- Pleng’s character bothers me. Again I don’t think it’s on the actress- rather the story or the screenplay. The whole burden, effort, personality and action all exist in Wan’s character- and Pleng is just someone ‘along for the ride’ She doesn’t seem devastated when leaving Pleng- in fact she comes across as a very self- absorbed and afraid- a character lacking any opinions or motivations. She is also quite horrible to Wan many times- who is obviously head over heels from the get.
I don’t know how different the novel is- I will read it soon- but Pleng’s character just put me off from the show. It feels like a one-sided love story to me.

Brilliant, Underrated Series
When I started watching- I hadn't even heard about it- no promos or anything. I love GAP so it was strange. I think I've watched every GL out there, and this is perhaps one of the best, if not the absolute best. It's such a difficult topic, handled with such maturity and beauty. I have to add that personally I'm a bit uncomfortable with age gap stories myself but in this one- so was the lead- her perspective came across so beautifully that I couldn't help but root for both of them. The actresses are both fabulous, the chemistry, flow and everything seems natural. Especially Faye Peraya. And the direction is also brilliant- her reserved character comes off so well. The tender scenes are done in absolute silence- which only add to realness of it. I was amazed at the brilliance of this GL from nowhere.
A little bit of spoiler- it doesn't have the 'perfect ending'- I don't even think there was anyway to achieve it with the storyline being such a tricky topic, but I think the lack of such an ending makes it even more real. Personally I loved it. Although my heart broke a little- and that's the only reason my rating is not a perfect 10

The Best GL
I’m a big GL fan and I watch pretty much everything in the genre. But this show truly stands out. The storyline is exceptional, and so is the cast and acting. This is one of the only shows that keeps you hooked in every way- not just the chemistry between leads (which is also fantastic and feels so natural)I think this is the absolute best GL series. I only hope the ending is not sad- because I read some discussions that it might be. Fingers crossed.
It’s a gem of a show though, and I wish they had more episodes or a second season because of how wonderful it is.
Having finished it- I have to add that I loved it just as much, although the book ending was better than the show (as it usually is)
After all- who wants to see Kie at the end?
I wish it would have finished on a scene oriented towards Wa and Four. Or had more intimate/ cute scenes between them. Short of that- the show was absolute perfection

Why ONLY 6?
This show is incredible. Orm and Folk are so good- their chemistry is effortless and amazing and they just flow together. It’s pure joy to watch. I also like how undramatic and natural it is compared to other GLs. Only 2 episode in- I’m loving it. I just wish there more than 6. Good series that have so much potential should be longer! Was this review helpful to you?
