His management never care for him. Whenever he was slandered, they never take action, it is always ChengYi who need to do the lawsuit. They only care if it concern their drama, but never himself. Because in his management, they works based on nepotism, whoever close to their executives, get their favor, eventhough he practically save the company from bankruptcy, but they never treats him well. Only Producer Deng (he is producer MLC) who support him, but he died in 2023, he is the only one who speak for him when he get slandered in 2020. The reason he want to film The Journey of Legend is because it is Producer Deng last project. And now his contract soon to expired, he didnt have anyone to support him in the company, so they cut his scenes in TJOL ending and did those stupid editing, inserting rehearsal scenes into the main film and didnt edit it properly. And leaving him alone being slandered by other artist, because of the production mistakes and other artist controversy.
And the company who make Sword and Beloved, ChengYi refused to play in the producer's 2 dramas before. The producer Wang Yi Xu slandered him so much because he refused him before. But IQIYI only want to invest if they have ChengYi, so he asked him again for Sword and Beloved. But ChengYi didnt directly agree at the time, so he keep pestering him in Hero Legends filming set. Until he finally agree because IQIYI executives also come too, and he agree because the initial script is really centered on his roles. But in the middle of filming, they changed the script. He already finished filming but other casts still filming, now we know why. He only need ChengYi because of the investment fund. So he never care for ChengYi, for us, he destroying his own drama, but his goal is different,he want to use him to promote his people. Most of the artists who played in SAB collabs together again with this producer new drama with Tencent. The problems with these people is they dont have basic work ethics, they dont care about the quality of the drama that they made, they only care for their own interests. And ChengYi is all alone, his family is only simple family, so they dare to bully him.

Yes the father and son relationship is the link from previous series, so the whole Fox Matchmaker universe can be complete. The beginning eps 1-18 is really good storytelling. And it also has good message too, the journey to realized his own path that all being are equal, human and demon, to protect all beings. To proof that the prophecy is wrong, he will not turn to evil because of demon. That a world where human and demon could exist together.

ChengYi really amazing, such an angel, eventhough the cruel environment he has experiences in c-ent but he still keep his innocent heart and kindness. He sincerely wish for chinese dramas can be well received, he never complaint, even always mention how much hardworks the crews have done. Sadly it is, they purposely ruin his scenes so they can promote the other casts. They only used him for investment fund, look how many those advertisements and co branding came for him how many cloud bookings that his fans reserved for him. And his fans also promoting his dramas offline and online, how much time and money. They also help making barrages and comments inside the apps so the heat index can rise, and keep promoting so passerby watch the drama. Those people really dont have basic work ethics!!! 🤮

Even director need to comply to his request. ChengYi usually check the camera after they finish shooting scenes to check whether he need adjustment etc. So they blurred him in final editing production. The dubbing was used for their convenient to change the plot according to what they want. They cut his scenes, blurred his face, use wide long shot, the close up rarely happened but they darkened the color tone.
