It’s one-sided romance at this point (ep 34) 😭

Yes right now (ep 34) our FL lacks a clear objective that pulls the story forward..Instead, events happen and she just reacts.

Agreed! Too perfect so her character is starting to fall flat. She solves everyone’s problems with ease. Predicts the EXACT plan of the villains. There is nothing at stake and no dramatic tension with her character right now.

Kinda glad Jingqi isn't the type to "let the FL make all the decisions even if she is making a really bad choice by staying behind with ravenous wolves". He knows life would've been miserable in the Lin household and made a decisive choice for him and his wife (aka his family). For one, I do NOT want to watch an arc of her staying home while he is out of the story. However...I don't think they needed to do the "drugging" method. If he was going to force his will on her, I prefer that he just firmly and assertively told her she would go no matter what.

This doesn't ruin the story for me at all though. It's a fiction world where everything works out in favor of the leads even if they don't realize it yet.

Really wholesome and poetic that Jingqi had to jump through hoops and get slapped to marry her. Because he abandoned her and now fighting hard to win her over. it gives our girl some justice and he redeems his younger self. Satisfying character/story development.

It's about time Liu Xueyi gets a better script (so far)! His character is very restrained in this series and I'm hoping the script will allow him to show more emotions! I kinda want some of that Kill Me Love me Murong Jinghe energy tehehe (that series was terrible, but his acting was chef's kiss)

First 20 mins of episode 39 was sooooo good. Ci sha is fantastic with his acting. He had zero dialogue but boy did he convey a lot!

Ci Sha really made the fight scenes good! Choreography isnt intense but his reactions Reminds me of watching good ole jackie chan/jet li martial arts films. His facial expressions are fantastic!!. I usually skip these scenes but i kept rewatching his 2nd to last battle because ci sha just draws you in. His pacing is 🔥🔥🔥 Really refreshing to see in a romance drama

Official confession happens around episode 18, but it feels perfectly timed because ML is obviously interested early on.

There is misunderstanding but lasts for like half an episode.

There is somewhat of a love triangle, but not in a way where it hurts the ML and FL relationship.

Happy ending. It ends with closure to the political conflict. Technically ML and FL are already a happy couple so it works fine. But really wished they wouldve give us 10 minutes of peaceful lovey dovey scenes .

Female lead’s character is unlikable…and I think it might be because Meng Zi Yi’s acting is dull.

ML and Fl are both scheming and using each other, but FL seems so indifferent about her schemes. Liu xue yi is really good at showing his conflicting feelings (for example, he is using FL but he starts to care for her, but then he doesn’t know if he can trust her, but he wants to trust her)… so we feel that tug and pull of the heart with him.

20 episodes in and FL still comes across as if she isn’t even slightly bothered that she is using ML for her own benefit.

Like does she even like him at this point?

This script is dookie and Liu Xue Yi deserves a better script. He’s an incredible actor.
