What happened with the murders from when the female lead was a child? Weren't those cases investigated by the police? or those cases got dead because they were unable to find the culprit

I just completed epi 4 and I am wondering that if she knew that her father is the serial killer why she didn't report him when she moved away from her father and become a dr. she should have reported her dad crimes. like there are murders going on one after another. just curious
