Really looked forward to this drama but so far it’s been rather underwhelming. Maybe I just had too high expectations. Really like the scheming crown prince though and his funny attendant. First time seeing HeYu in a historical drama but I think he’s doing a great job. Shen Xihe ‘/ Gu Qingzhi is scheming, clever and all but I just feel no connection to her at all. Feel like we didn’t get much of her background story as well as her motivations for her life now. Maybe it’ll come at some point though. Also feeling a little conflicted since her ex-husband genuinely seemed to have lived her/ Gu Qingzhi…

I think Mo Xiuyao divorcing Yeli in the first place was mainly because of him suddenly being afraid that Yeli was only doing everything out of guilt and thereforehe was trying to free her from this debt. So not necessarily because he was disappointed in her, angry at her or blaming her for the death of his brother

This drama is giving me vibes of both Speed and Love, Dazzling and The First Frost. It’s somewhat like a mix of all of them

So is Qi Zheng actually only pretending to be silly and lazy?
