I mean all the other young masters from the back of the hill stayed there (well save Yue as his dad was murdered; so no choice); he’s the only one that’s popped up to the front, changing his appearance and blending in; helping out elder sis and trying to get her mind to the right place. He’s also probably in charge of the 3rd trial whatever it is.

I don’t think he likes her, he just feels bad for her. I think he may know her backstory. She however has no clue he’s a prince and will probably have to join Yue in the front since thanks to Wuming, elders be dropping like flies. That revelation for her will be interesting to see.
Ok we are finally seeing progression of ZY’s martial arts growth with the help of his late father. Was actually happy to see some development with Junior poison and SJ in the sense that beneath the ulterior conceded nature, there is pain and heartbreak; real tears. I firmly believe Junior poison is an orphan and obviously a genius pharmacologist (look how fast he figured the herb ingredients are lethal though not yet that both women need them to survive) not just a creator of poisons. SJ became family to him; the only one he has so he sticks to him like a glove. When speaking to servants it was the first time I saw a real smile out of him that wasn’t a little shit smirk. However, his flaw was that he spilled too much info to SGQ. She prayed on his vulnerability and he crumbled. His Achilles heel is SJ. Like you could see the pain in his eyes when told SJ was having dinner with SGQ after he was just so happy to have created the lantern himself to give to SJ. You finally saw the kid as a kid instead of the mouthy little shit you always wanted to smack.
Some ppl were suspicious of why he had Lang didi’s dagger that SJ gave him. But I think it could be one of two fairly innocent reasons; 1) he wanted to be the little brother in SJ’s heart. 2) After the murders, he saved the dagger and other things so they wouldn’t get discarded to prevent pain.
I think their storyline in this episode takes center stage. With SGQ just floating about in the wind being nosy and eavesdropping; the character has really dropped for me. Hopefully, it’ll pick up soon. Again spilling the information to YWS about the poisonous daggers without even being prompted 🤦🏻♀️. YWS was cagey, but I think the secret she whispered in SGQ’s ear may have to do with the lantern festival and/or her necklace being taken to buy time to send information out so they can get the antidote. Now my question is, with all of the information YWS has, ie poison darts and back mountain, will she release it all to assassins creed or only some?
Elder sis really was too extra in this episode. Tomorrow she’s like a carnival clown lol.
But I’m ready for trial 2 and all the drama that comes with Prince Yue.
