Then he sees her place her thumb btwn the blade and bros throat at realizes he's in on it too. He's a very smart man, a strategist, a general; did he really think that CG; the woman who led whole armies, was his level if not more sometimes of strategy, who loved him as much as he her, would really just chill on a couch in Chang'an and let the crazy bitch from hell harpoon him? Smart men, aren't always that smart. Thoughts?

You're def not crazy. I'd say it's my second drama that I have such a strong attachment to but I've seen multiple of their modern and costume dramas. I think the emotional attachment to the characters and the storyline means production and cast accomplished what they set out to do.

Actually quick correction/addition, prior to the final seconds of the episode the last time Ah Sun wears his Tegin outfit is in that same episode when he gives chase to uncle asshole and She'er and then rescues CG from the burning palace after letting Wolf division and She'er leave to live freely.
