Me and my friend literally have the same thoughts on you with this one... I reached episode 4 and then started…
I completely agree with you. I prefer the miscommunication and misunderstandings trope to go out the window. Fated Hearts was a much better drama, but it can't be compared to this one because the genres are different. That was a more political gunning for the throne, mystery thing, and this was a Xianxia. I do recall someone in the comments saying that this drama did better than that the yummy one, I believe whispers of fate (WOF), and Blood River (BR). Now both WOF and BR are also different genres so again you can't compare and they have not finished yet so saying that this one did better than those is incorrect. Another one that this person compared the drama with that actually does fit and the only one on the list that does is Sword and Beloved because that is also in the same genre. That said that drama just started airing so until it ends, you don't and cannot say that it did better. I understand people want to hype this drama and that's totally cool but you have to understand when and where to do so. The only way to say a drama did better than another drama is to compare genres. If they are not in the same genre, even if it's a historical drama, it will absolutely be incorrect because of what you're saying. I will have to say that Fated Hearts (Political, Mystery, Romance genre), BR (dark Wuxia), WOF (Xuanhuan, Fantasy), I watched or am watching, and I think they the three of them if you're just comparing dramas for comparing dramas sake, which I actually never do were/are way better when it comes to screenwriting, editing, and overall situational awareness than this one. You've got the right villains, you've got a straight storyline that gives you a path, and you don't have all this mumbo-jumbo that they tossed in here that was unnecessary. But people cannot just compare dramas because they feel like comparing them.
There are many data things over there that just list all the dramas regardless whether they are modern or historical or republican era or any other genre and put them on a list and say "here you go this one's doing better today." And then people start saying "oh look this drama is doing better than all the others" and that is completely incorrect. It may have higher viewership if that's what they're trying to get at but saying that it's better or it did better when you're comparing basically apples to oranges is just incorrect. A person has to understand what they are saying and doing before posting it into a comment section as gospel.
I was hoping he used his own voice that deep voice of his hahaha
Sometimes that site is accurate and sometimes it's not. I honestly don't know who use their own voices and who didn't. Sometimes production requires voice actors and other times it's the choice of the actor.
I got a lot of spoilers from people who read the screenplay and read the book, but I’m not sure whether those…
It's not really me. It's someone else who apparently read the screenplay as well. She said that there are two big villains, one of which controls GMD. It's like a house of cards each one controls someone else and someone else is the puppet. We're not even halfway there so we've got a long way to figure out who're the big villains and how they play in all of this.
You can actually write the review in your language, but it’ll go toward the end of the reviews as all the foreign language ones do. If you don’t mind that then that’s another thing for you to do in the future.
I’m guessing the subtitles are good enough for you but I’m watching on IQ so I’m only up to 16. Yeah, and…
That’s why I watch on IQIY even though it doesn’t have SVIP just VIP it’s OK. I don’t mind being one or two episodes behind. I think it’s only one though.
I also wrote a review which I don’t do very often. I gave it a nine. People might agree, but the fact that I…
We all have differing opinions and that’s perfectly normal. I don’t have a Reddit account. I never did so that whole social media thing is out of my realm of understanding.
This is a potential spoiler about Gui Mudan, Tang Lici and Chi Yun: https://so.douyin.com/video/detail?aweme_id=7564853871647182115I…
I got a lot of spoilers from people who read the screenplay and read the book, but I’m not sure whether those will remain in the actual series. GMD is one of the villains, but apparently not the big two beds that eventually come in to play. But unfortunately, the person who we care about a lot will bite the dust.
Some people hate her personally I don’t hate her. I just wish she was a little bit more than one dimensional.…
I’m talking about what went on with censorship. They have to go through review and episodes are added or subtracted based on that. Maybe there was something else that they wanted added.

Oh, I completely agree. I didn’t even realize people were hating on her until this person above mentioned it. I’ve just been watching the show for the plot and just grumbling about the fact that ML has more enemies than friends and he needs to get more friends in order to get to the truth. That has been my only personal grumble. Whatever everyone else talks about I don’t know.
