Even the friends? Can't they call an ambulance/doctor thru their cellphones?

I found Xin Jia Liang a loving BF but a pitiful person, to be in the situation that his parents disliked his GF. He loves the FL, he's not a pushover, and he almost always contradicts his parent wishes... Even if he obeys, he still finds ways to get with her GF. As early as episode 3, I think, for me, his only mistake was he never tell her GF his true identity (it is understandable if they were only dating for a year or less than a year)... BUT IT WAS 3 LONG YEARS
