I'm afraid its not as simple as one talks alot and the other doesnt. He is constantly talking her down and insulting her. This makes her feel less confident and more insecure especially when he is some she looks up to proffessionally and someone he literally sleeps with at night!
How can she be expected to be open and talk more with him if she is slammed with insults before she can even make her mind up about anything.
In one episode alone she calls her simple minded, obedient, brainless and so on. Shes been at that co.pany for years now with ample achievements and no promotion.

I wasted my evening watching this. Quite frankly, i hated all the characters. Only came to somewhat accept xiao fan in the end after knowing that he wasnt a simping, depressed bird brain and actually had some life in him.
