Back to your ItaKiss review. I think it's so popular because basically ItaKiss is like the mother of all shoujo cliches, especially the one involving the main leads sharing a house. While I do mindlessly enjoy the drama, I won't deny that I also gritted my teeth every single time Kotoko's will to move on from Naoki crumbling, or the fact that she doesn't seem to have any interest in her life beside Naoki. At least in the anime version, Kotoko found passion in becoming a nurse (even when Naoki being a doctor is her motivation). You know, I find it intriguing (and annoying) that a lot of shoujo works at the same time span make the main female lead share this same trait.
