Title Blossoms of Power Spoiler
So, base on the novel, my favorite couple Cui jin bai and Bu Shu Lin won't end up together 😭😭. I just hope…
That’s not how it is; I read the book and their ending is just too beautiful in my eyes. They end up together with twin boys, one boy takes the surname Cui and the other takes the surname Shu. Cui Yinbai marries into the Shu family rather than the other way around; they aren't a traditional couple. I also searched for scenes of how Bu Shu Ling and Cui Yinbai’s story might end in the series and whether they will have their twin sons, And, yes, they had twins, especially since they have changed the original story a lot. It’s completely understandable, though—it's 852 chapters for a 36-episode series, so of course they have to condense it. But what they did manage to keep is the essence of Bu Shu Ling and Cui Yinbai

Is it just me because I feel like the real shen xihe isn't dead maybe they had any interaction idk how to put…
This is just my personal interpretation, not a fact. In the novel, Gu Qingzhi didn't reincarnate as Shen Xihe, she only passed her memories on to her. Shen Xihe always remained herself (this is a fact). However, the drama gives me the opposite impression.
To me, it feels like Gu Qingzhi is the one in control, with Shen Xihe's memories, rather than Shen Xihe with Gu Qingzhi's memories, What I think is that there was reincarnation in the series. (Just my interpretation)

Q1) Is Prince Lie next in line for the CP title when Hua Yong dies? If Hua Yong became Emperor, he would not last…
1. After Huayong, he doesn't have anyone in mind; I thought he had Xiao Changyan in mind, but no, his favorite was Huayong
2.That wasn't the case in the book; the writers wanted to make Xiao Changqing that obsessive, In the book, I deeply loved Gu Qingzhi at first, although I saw something in Shen Xihe that resembled his dead wife, In the end he understands and steps aside; Shen Xihe and Xiao Changqing even work together on numerous occasions, but no more.
3. He doesn't care at all if it's a man or a woman, he wants her completely as she is; throughout the entire book, Bu Shulin's gender was never revealed to him, he had his suspicions that she was a woman, but the truth is that all he cares about is Bu Shulin, not gender. I wanted to know more about them; the author left me wanting a complete scene of their reunion from Bu Shulin's or Cui Jinbai's perspective, I only learned about them through the letters Bu Shulin sent to Shen Xihe, total disappointment 😆😩

One detail the C-drama hasn't fully explained is why Shen Xihe doesn't hate her half-sister, Shen Yingruo, yet…
Sorry for the confusion! 😆 In the novel, she wasn't Gu Qingzhi's half-sister she was her cousin. That's why I didn't realize the drama had changed their relationship. 🫣

In the novel, Shen Xihe barely acknowledges her because she has always seen herself as Shen Xihe, not Gu Qingzhi reborn. She only inherited Gu Qingzhi's memories, so although she knows who her cousin is, she has no emotional attachment to her.

The drama seems to portray Shen Xihe as much closer to a reincarnated Gu Qingzhi, which is probably why she reacts differently. As for Gu Qingzhi's cousin, she was just an opportunist and not a particularly intelligent character, so I honestly can't even remember her name. 😅

Wait did I miss something why was Xi He so cruel to her sister ? I mean yes sure she was a brat, I would have…
One detail the C-drama hasn't fully explained is why Shen Xihe doesn't hate her half-sister, Shen Yingruo, yet never allows herself to become emotionally close to her.

The reason goes back to what Lady Xiao did before Shen Xihe was even born.

After General Shen Yueshan returned victorious from a military campaign, the emperor and Lady Xiao conspired to get him drunk. Lady Xiao then arranged to spend the night with him and deliberately spread rumors that she would enter the Shen family as his second wife.

At that time, Shen Xihe's mother was eight months pregnant. The shock caused her to go into premature labor. Shen Xihe was born extremely weak, and her mother died during childbirth.

Eventually, the Empress Dowager uncovered Lady Xiao's scheme. The only reason Lady Xiao survived was because she was already pregnant with Shen Yingruo. Even so, she was allowed to enter the Shen family only as a concubine, and Shen Yueshan never visited her again.

Lady Xiao could not be punished further because she was the emperor's cousin. Instead, she spent years plotting against Shen Xihe from afar while Shen Xihe was growing up with her father and older brother in the North.

She even placed one of her own maids among Shen Xihe's trusted attendants. Shen Xihe genuinely cared for this maid, yet she was the one who pushed her into the sea under Lady Xiao's orders, hoping to force Shen Xihe to acknowledge Shen Yingruo.

Shen Xihe is always true to herself and never pretends to feel something she doesn't. She was also the one responsible for bringing about Lady Xiao's downfall in one of the most brutal ways possible.

That is why Shen Xihe never allows herself to become close to Shen Yingruo. It isn't because she blames her half-sister for her mother's death or Lady Xiao's actions. Shen Xihe knows that Shen Yingruo is kind-hearted and genuinely innocent.

However, Shen Yingruo also lives in a position of privilege. Emperor Yuning cares deeply for her, spoils her, and she sincerely sees him as an uncle.
For that very reason, Shen Yueshan keeps his distance from his own daughter. He provides her with every comfort and ensures she lacks nothing materially, but he never gives her his affection. He knows that if he openly cherished Shen Yingruo, the emperor would eventually grow wary of her and use her against the Shen family.
Shen Xihe is never cruel to Shen Yingruo. She is simply distant. In fact, she protects her whenever someone tries to harm her.

At one point, Xiao Huayong is genuinely surprised by this. Shen Xihe simply tells him:
"She bears the Shen surname. I won't allow anyone to harm her."
Huayong finds this surprising because he himself has little attachment to his own brothers. Like many members of the imperial family, he is willing to plot against them when necessary. That contrast highlights one of the biggest differences between the Shen family and the imperial family.

1. If I'm not mistaken, it was at the Summer Palace that Shen Xihe used a secret escape route that only Gu Qingzhi…
Empress Dowager did it.Although I understand her backstory, the former emperor destroyed her entire clan, I can't justify her actions or the path she chose. Her ultimate goal was simple: to wipe out the entire Xiao imperial family. She hated both of the late emperor's sons, Prince Qian (Xiao Huayong's biological father) and Yuning, who later became the emperor. To achieve her revenge, she resorted to sorcery and manipulation, ultimately driving the emperor to kill his own brother, Prince Qian, the very prince who was originally supposed to inherit the throne. In the end, she became the true mastermind behind countless tragedies. Her revenge consumed not only her enemies but also innocent people, making her, in my opinion, the novel's ultimate villain.

1. If I'm not mistaken, it was at the Summer Palace that Shen Xihe used a secret escape route that only Gu Qingzhi…
Partly, yes, he wanted to make the emperor pay on behalf of his biological parents, but deep down, Huayong doesn't feel that infinite sadness for his uncle's betrayal of his father, Huayong senses that there is more to it than what his grandmother has told him, Unlike in the series, his grandmother, who manipulates Xiao Huayong(at that moment, because Huayong is not a manipulative person because he has a very strong mindset), tells him the truth about his origins (only what suits Empress Dowager) after he was poisoned as a child. Although, like Xiao Changqing, they both enjoy making the emperor's life a little bit miserable each day

To be honest, I didn't either; it hurt because if Shen Xihe hadn't appeared, he would have been very lonely, Because the grandmother's witch was truly so evil that she had people around her who knew dark arts, and she used them on the emperor and on Xiao Huayong when he was a child, thinking that in this way she would have a puppet at her will and service, but she only succeeded once; after that, Xiao Huayong's mentality now is so strong that it is impossible for her to bend him again through dark arts, Every time I think about her, I get angry

1. If I'm not mistaken, it was at the Summer Palace that Shen Xihe used a secret escape route that only Gu Qingzhi…
It completely caught me off guard because, throughout the novel, I believed the emperor only pretended to love Xiao Huayong for the sake of appearances.

The reality was far more shocking.

The emperor genuinely loved Xiao Huayong. Even though Xiao Huayong wasn't his biological son, he truly regarded him as his own.

The person who caused the greatest suffering to both the emperor and Xiao Huayong was the Empress Dowager. In many ways, even the emperor was another one of her victims.

She is the true mastermind and the ultimate villain of the story. She was such a brilliant actress that she even managed to deceive Shen Xihe into believing that she genuinely loved Xiao Huayong.

Fortunately, Shen Xihe never trusted her completely.

Who from the Gu family is the Fifth Prince hiding?? 🧐
The last survivor of the Gu clan, the only one who managed to escape the clutches of his father the emperor, is Gu Qingzhi's cousin, thanks to Xiao Changqing saving her, which is very convenient for Huayong, and because of this Xiao Changqing and Xiao Changying realize that the crown prince is tremendously powerful, To make them both stay away from Shen Xihe, he threatens both brothers with revealing everything to the emperor, and so both siblings begin to fear him. Gu Qingzhi's cousin becomes obsessed with Xiao Changqing, but He never reciprocated her feelings, because if she hadn't been Gu Qingzhi's cousin, he would never have lifted a finger for her, this cousin is just an opportunist x

Why is that girl Imperial Guard pretending to be a man? What’s her story?
Bu Shulin's story is one of my favorites in the novel.

She lives as a man because the Southern Shu clan had no male heir. From the very beginning, the emperor secretly conspired to ensure that Bu Shulin's father would never have a legitimate son. Left with no other choice, her father raised Bu Shulin as a boy to protect their clan and preserve its inheritance.

Throughout the novel, the emperor repeatedly schemes to eliminate Bu Shulin. His goal is simple: once her father dies without a recognized male heir, the Southern Shu territory and its military power would fall under imperial control.

However, there is one person who constantly ruins the emperor's plans Shen Xihe.

Shen Xihe knows exactly what is at stake, and she refuses to let anyone harm her best friend. Time and time again, she outmaneuvers the emperor's schemes and protects Bu Shulin, making it impossible for him to seize the Southern Shu clan.

One of the things I love most about their friendship is that Shen Xihe never sees Bu Shulin as a political tool. She genuinely treasures her as her closest friend and is willing to confront anyone even the emperor himself to keep her safe.

BTW, question for novel readers, idk if this makes sense, but why did Shen Xihe have to merge souls in the first…
The truth is something I didn't fully understand at first while reading the novel, but the author makes it quite clear.

When Gu Qingzhi died, only her memories were transferred to Shen Xihe. Shen Xihe was always Shen Xihe—she simply inherited Gu Qingzhi's memories. Her intelligence was always her own; it was never something she gained from Gu Qingzhi.

What Gu Qingzhi's memories gave her was a deeper understanding of the imperial family and how dangerous they truly were. If I'm not mistaken, the only skills Shen Xihe inherited from Gu Qingzhi were things like the art of incense, since Gu Qingzhi specialized in perfumery.

Most importantly, Shen Xihe never once thought about avenging the Gu clan. She was a true ruler because she understood why the Gu clan had to fall. She even acknowledged that the emperor was an excellent ruler despite ordering the extermination of the Gu family, the most powerful noble clan in the empire.

Why? Because the existence of such an overwhelmingly powerful noble family prevented talented people from lower social classes from rising through the government. The nobility continued to accumulate wealth and influence while ordinary people had little opportunity to advance.

What makes this even more fascinating is that both the head of the Gu clan and Gu Qingzhi herself understood this reality. That is why Gu Qingzhi was never attached to life. She saw life as something fleeting and accepted her fate without trying to change it. She had little emotional attachment to the world because she believed her destiny had already been decided.

Shen Xihe and Gu Qingzhi are completely different people. At first, the author deliberately makes you think they are almost the same, but as the story progresses, you realize they are fundamentally different.

Gu Qingzhi was detached from life and incapable of truly loving or becoming emotionally attached to others.

Shen Xihe, on the other hand, is different from the very beginning. We see the deep love she has for her father and her older brother—they are her entire world. Although she fully understands why the North cannot remain under the Shen clan forever and even understands the emperor's political reasoning, she refuses to let anything happen to her father or brother.

That is why she stands against the emperor directly. Everything she does is driven by her determination to protect the Shen clan and the people she loves from anyone who threatens them.

To the novel readers: did Xiao Chang Qing react the same way in the novel as shown in the Ep 10 preview when he…
1. If I'm not mistaken, it was at the Summer Palace that Shen Xihe used a secret escape route that only Gu Qingzhi could have known. That single detail completely shattered Xiao Changqing. He burst into her quarters, screaming, "Who are you?!" like a madman.

Xiao Changqing was deeply shaken, but he didn't overreact because, by that point, he already knew that Xiao Huayong wasn't the frail, sickly man he pretended to be he was someone to be feared. Shen Xihe calmly came up with a story, claiming that she and Gu Qingzhi had been friends. Since Shen Xihe had already arranged everything in advance to support that lie, Xiao Changqing investigated and found evidence that they really had known each other. After that, he stopped questioning her.

2. This part was a little different in the book. In the C-drama, Xiao Changqing supposedly helped the emperor destroy the Gu clan while sparing his wife.

In the novel, however, things happened differently. Xiao Changqing accepted becoming his father's sword, no matter who he had to kill. He was prepared to carry out any order without hesitation. But the emperor never intended to spare anyone from the Gu clan. Because of that betrayal, Xiao Changqing came to hate his father, the emperor. From then on, he devoted himself to making the emperor's life a little more miserable every single day.

While I was reading the novel, I honestly thought the emperor's favorite son was either Xiao Changqing or Xiao Changyan (Prince Jing, the Eighth Prince). My biggest surprise was discovering that Xiao Huayong had always been his favorite.

As Shen Xihe explained, the emperor realized that many of the "accidents" happening around him were actually Xiao Huayong's doing. Even so, he loved him so deeply that he chose to believe Xiao Huayong knew nothing about his true origins. To the emperor, if Xiao Huayong ever learned the truth, it would mean that he hated him and that was something the emperor could never bear.

3. Xiao Huayong and Xiao Changqing worked together on several occasions. However, Xiao Huayong always treated Xiao Changqing as a subordinate and made it clear who truly held the upper hand.

Xiao Changqing never had any real chance of obtaining the throne. Even after his wife's death, he had no interest in becoming emperor. Instead, he devoted himself to paving the way for his younger brother, Xiao Changying, whom he loved dearly.

Ironically, Xiao Changying wasn't interested in the throne either. All he wanted was to see Shen Xihe happy even if she could never be with him. He loved her sincerely throughout the entire novel.

In the end, both brothers chose Shen Xihe above everything else. But Xiao Huayong's plans were never meant to secure the throne for himself. Everything he did was for his wife and their unborn child.
