I’m half way through this drama, around episode 20… ML leaves FL coz he is poised and will die??? When do they get back together? Is it a long drawn out separation?
Ending was a bit rushed but overall, beautiful drama. I cried when the leads cried, i fell in love when they fell in love. kind of hit home since I did expat living during interracial relationship. I think 6 episodes were not enough.
sometimes I get confused with these Japanese/Korean dramas. because I genuingly thought they hated eachother due…
Younger Koreans don’t resent Japan as a country much (anymore) and often travel to Japan but certain issues remain sensitive, like Comfort Women and Dokdo… As long as nothing inflammatory is said… I am sure there will be an uproar if this drama has anything sensitive re Japanese colonialism.
Bringing up other actress’ appearance is so unnecessary and trying to make it OK by saying “no offense”…
Are you saying that you are justified in mocking others appearance because others do it too? What an argument. 🙄🙄 Take accountability of your own action, not shift blame on others.
How about celebrities not announce their departure/arrival so that they can avoid this inconvenience to other passengers caused by crazy fans? oh wait, they can’t coz they make money off sponsors and fans 🙄
FL is the driven force of this drama. Without her this was nothing but 0.I am so happy and glad for BWS, as his…
KHY’s popularity definitely grew even bigger from this drama but I agree that it’s sad that BWS is getting way more out of the success of the drama… and I am happy for him bc he seems so genuine and hardworking… and I personally think that if another actress had played Sol, this drama would not have been as big of a hit… KHY has won many awards and widely recognized among other veteran actors as being super talented. What the public reaction to this drama has made me realize is that at the end of the day, when it comes to Asian drama fans, it’s dominated by women who live off fantasizing off hot male actors. You need talent but when it comes to male actors, looks are more important… Some of the K-pop idol actors with massive fan base can’t act but they sure get casted a lot coz they are really good looking and so many female fans simp over them.
At this point if this ship sinks, won't there be deep disappointment?? Hmm....must manage expectations & not get…
I think that’s because most of his new fans love him because of Lovely Runner. I mean he’s been around since 2014 and always been good looking but this drama really blew him up. Otherwise, how come they don’t show his other kissing scenes from other shows/movies at his fan meeting? They only show his romantic parts with KHY. They are making so much money off Lovely Runner and taking advantage of shipping with KHY.
No female actor get more popular than male actors in kdrama and it's mainly because majority of the kdrama viewers…
I understand your points and I am happy for BWS and his new found success. He seems like a really great person with solid acting skills. I also realize that most of the drama fans are women, some of who latch on the attractive male actors as a form of fantasy/escapism.
That still doesn’t explain why KHY was not invited to Running Man alongside BWS or why she is not getting as much exposure. Like Nam Joo Hyuk (who I love!) has more followers than his accomplished female actresses like LSY, KTR or HJM.
I guess money talks and popularity is more about how much marketing appeal one has rather than comparative acting skills.
However, it’s not just KHY and victimizing her. BC of misogyny, many female actresses get overshadowed by male actors simply bc the male actors are “hotter” and more marketable.
I wish that the female actresses will receive as much recognition and exposure based on their acting skills and not based on how much fantasy they can feed their fans.
I can’t believe the misogyny in entertainment industry and fan culture. Every time KHY’s drama becomes a hit, why is it that the male actors get more attention, exposure, promotion, commercials, followers etc? KHY has gotten so many awards and so much praise but she doesn’t get as “popular” as her male counterparts. She literally carried the entire drama in EOY and LR. Nothing personal against the male counterparts, just dumbfounded and disappointed.
I loved this drama and both KHY & BWS. I just can’t believe the misogyny in the entertainment industry and the fan culture.
Nothing personal against BWS coz he genuinely seems like a humble, hard working actor but what the heck?! Every time KHY’s drama becomes a hit, why is it that the male actors get more attention, exposure, promotion, commercials, followers etc? Same thing w the actors from Extraordinary You and now this drama. KHY has gotten so many awards and so much praise but she doesn’t get as “popular” as her male counterparts.
I have watched a lot of C & K-dramas. But I don't get it, the fan culture. A show's main success, beside screenplays…
Most of the drama viewers are female and a lot of them (not all) are delulus who fantasize about the handsome ML, which is why in most cases, male actors act like they are single/have no dating life… Especially if their career is starting to hit off like BWS.
How is the rating only 9.1?! This is like the only drama where everyone, including the fan clubs, is rooting for the main to actually date in real life bc of their amazing chemistry!!!! 💛💛
Because Sun Jae wasn't on the bus with her in the first place, didn't ask the driver to stop the bus. Therefore,…
I think that if the taxi driver never saw her then he wouldn’t know Sol and have no reason to become her stalker?? Anyone remember when the taxi driver first met/saw Sol and became obsessed with her?
