His character is fairly pointless tbh except for a few funny scenes where he is flirting with the older version of the FL and it is witnessed by the investigator. Other than that, he gives the FL a lift a few times. He doesn't really have a big role. He likes the FL but it is one sided.

First half was 10/10, brilliant romcom, but then the writing failed to deliver and went downhill towards the end.

Agree. I would have quite liked this guy because he was at least upfront about his reluctance to become emotionally invested, and when he was there, he was fully present.

I am in my 30s, and I totally agree with this. This is for viewers whose bubbles have long been burst and who have lived and experienced the mess of more than one relationship, and the confusing blur between physical and emotional intimacy. Definitely not for viewers looking for fairytales, Prince Charmings, and happy endings.

Apparently it was supposed to be several episodes longer, so they chopped the ending to smitherines. I don't think CGI was the issue in the ending, simply lack of screen time. They should have cut evenly from the whole drama, instead they just cut like mad from the last few episodes which totally messed up the ending.

Parts of the OST remind me a lot of Ever Night, very different vibe from usual OSTs

I think you should just not fixate on something so superficial. I think she looks amazing for her age, and she's an amazing actress. Also, this drama spans decides of her life. Plenty of C dramas with little girls pretending to be middle aged. 🤷‍♀️
Plus, maybe you don't realise, Zhang Ziyi is an internationally acclaimed movie star. This drama happened because of her.
