After reading a lot comment i don't know if this drama is my type, i guess i will skip it, even the story good,…
Because it's not about romantic myths that are perpetuated by most Asian dramas like "the One"/soulmate etc. Don't get me wrong, I like those dramas too. This drama is just different because it's a realistic portrayal of modern dating life. Lovers come and go. This drama is ultimately about Yumi's journey of self-discovery, learning to love others and herself, career and other pursuits and happiness/mental health. It's such a wholesome drama, just don't go into it expecting the usual cliches.
Yumi's Cells is the most realistic portrayal of modern dating and psychology of all the K dramas I have watched. K dramas are often ideoligical romances focused on those age old romantic myths like "The One" etc. Yumi's Cells breaks away from these romantic traditions. Even though I was very emotionally attached to Wung, that in itself perhaps says more about everyone's attachment to their first love. I like seeing Yumi's journey of self-discovery in love, life and career. For me, the ending of season 2 was really in tune with the rest of the drama. Lovers come and go, but the relationship you have with yourself is forever.
his voice is super attractive and you can tell its him...no voice over
Yes, a really good actor can protray range like that. I also like the subtlety to his acting in this drama, he's dramatically understated somehow. It really adds something to how his character comes across, a stillness. He speaks very purposefully or not at all. His chemistry with Zhao Lusi too is palpable!
The mother was starting to grow on me until the palace incident. She really was out of line. Disgraceful to humiliate your daughter like that. Thank you Emperor for not being as biased as CSS's own mother! The sooner she can marry LBY and move out the better. Good riddance!
I think it's that in part, but also I think it's insecurity and guilt over abandoning her daughter at birth. She became momentarily obsessed with correcting her "bad ways". But actually, the mother and daughter are pretty similar in character. Seems in the last couple of episodes she has softened and become more reasonable so that's a relief.
His chemistry with Zhao Lusi too is palpable!
