A drama can’t be deep or have meaning if you’re not actually paying attention. Weak Hero Class 1 was so much…
I’m curious about what you said about the depiction of teachers being realistic. cause that stood out for me and was frustrating. but I have no context for what schools in Korea are like and/or if bullying really reaches this level. so I don’t fully get what you meant by how the series is depicting powerless authority. cause the teachers just didn’t seem to give af honestly and I was like wow this is kinda wild when people’s heads are getting busted in the classroom 😂
I would’ve liked to know more of the main characters’ backstory too. I’m not sure how it could’ve been fit in but in the first few episodes I wanted to know more about what made them tick. the flashbacks we did get were helpful but Su-ho was such a mystery. I went from thinking he was homeless to him talking about living with his grandma…but still not getting why he slept at the school overnight!!!
all of this!!! I felt like the violence eventually became unrealistic, and it was wild that as things progressed there was just more and more. after awhile it was like ok this isn’t just bullying anymore. and so much of it was happening at random times of the day/night, I was wondering how these kids had such unlimited time available to them and then are back at school the next day lol.
by the end I wasn’t even sure what the point of all the fighting was anymore, but I can’t lie I love a good action scene.
His visuals are a mix of Park Seo Joon and Yoon Shi Yoon with both of their energies... however, his acting skills…
I got heavyyyyy Park Seo Joon vibes (idk if I know the other actor). like I was immediately interested in whatever he was doing on screen 😭😂 and turned out to be worth it because he was amazing in Weak class hero 1
I have so many thoughts and a lot to process, but the main thing I’m wondering is like…what type of show was this meant to be? like I know it’s a drama but all the fighting got to be a bit much after awhile and wasn’t rooted in any end goal enough to be considered full action. obviously there’s some funny moments throughout but even after finishing I’m still like “what was the plot.” the friendships and how those developed were enjoyable to watch but things go south and that’s no longer relevant.
I hope this makes sense but basically I’m curious to hear how it came together for others. at the end of the day, I just feel like it was a good show but not seeing like a deeper message or anything at the moment. not necessarily one I’d rewatch but maybe I missed something 😭
SN: I would’ve been so mad finishing and not knowing there’s a second season lol.
So after reading some comments I have to add my thoughts about Beom Seok. I totaly get the hate and me too I truly…
honestly to me it just seemed like he had unrequited love for Su-ho and got very jealous and lost it. I mean I agree with what you’re saying but it all seemed very petty to me.
barely even 10 minutes in and I’m just like wtf lol. might have to try another time because i don’t think I can sit through more of whatever this first part is 😂
Biggest plot hole is WHY DIDN'T THEY CALL THE COPS EARLIER. If one unit is busy SURELY other cops will show up…
not really a plot hole lol. that unit was very focused with the missing grandson and could not have cared less about any other missing person in that moment. And I don’t blame them for taking it into their own hands for awhile after that fist call they made to the police lol.
by the end I wasn’t even sure what the point of all the fighting was anymore, but I can’t lie I love a good action scene.
