These producers need to learn how to make a compelling tv show. More time is spent explaining things and showing boys sitting around doing nothing, than revealing things about the boys.
Taichi is one of my favorite characters in all of BL. And both actors, from the movie version and this series, portray him perfectly. Kobayashi's ability to go from skipping lightly across campus to crying over a hamburger are truly impressive. Can't wait for next week.
Wow. I'm loving this. An interesting group of guys. And we're getting a lot more depth than in the other dating shows. I actually love the commentary as well. They all seem truly engaged and give insightful comments.
I like Dai, but the way he pursues Shun gives me the creeps. He doesn't seem to "read the room". He's too aggressive, especially since he knows Shun is more reserved. I also get the feeling that a lot of his compliments are just recycled pickup lines. Probably not, but they just feel too forced. "You are very important to me." You've only known each other 4 days. How important can he be? If they are the only couple at the end I will be disappointed, but I'm looking forward to watching it all unfold.
There's a different feel and pacing to this one that makes it stand out for me. Yoji is doing a great job. Subtle, yet totally clear in what he's feeling. Tiashin is still creepy, but a little less so as they become closer. I got a weird vibe on the bus and then when the old man appeared again., I heard Takara's warning loud and clear. And that shot of his hands on the briefcase at the end... so foreboding. Nice direction. Already anxious for Ep3.
Just finished my 3rd watch. Still gets me. That restaurant boss is the bomb! Love her.
But... Question: At the start of Ep 4, (after they bump into each other on the subway) the MC are walking down a long hallway. Is that the dorm? A love hotel? Where are they?
Exactly phums character has more depth than they show.. Its fluffy n fun show but phum has much more deeper scars…
I agree, and I think it's a shame the way the writers treat him. He's very inconsistent. They make him act like a confident, cool guy without a care in the world.... until they want to play the trauma card. Writers: Watch The Eighth Sense and see how someone with trauma carries it with them ALWAYS, not just when it's convenient to your story. (NOT that this show should be as dark as TES, but it's called character consistency)
I dislike that the coach and Zen as captain dont defend him. When the mates are badmouthing Zen doesent support…
He's one of the best shooters on the team. That comment felt totally false and just put in by the script writers to stir up trouble. And I agree, why is NO ONE standing up for him. Argh!
I'd say... an underwhelming conclusion. A minor misunderstanding and then... all is forgiven. Eh.
Overall, I enjoyed the series, thought the two performances were strong. Nam Yi gives off a strong stalker vibe, and I'd have to say I think these two are doomed IRL, but I'll just pretend this last moment is the HEA.
For those hung up on Jae Min's dream... dreams are not literal. Typically, the people we dream of are NOT who we are thinking about. They are stand-ins so we can play out our fears/desires safely (by removing the actual person who is involved in those crises). Jae Min was lonely, needed to be reassured and to feel like he was loved... so he dreamt of someone showing him attention and love. Then he woke up and realized who he actually had those feelings for. The kiss might have been a betrayal. The dream was not.
And as everyone is saying... some of the best kissing in BL.
A pleasant start. Reminds me of a softer version of Utsukushi Kare. I agree with Takara that it's a bit creepy. But I'm already falling for these two characters. I hope they develop and we get to see more sides of them.

@aquadrone22 I don't love the phrases either, but I merely wanted to imply that I didn't justify his behavior,while still allowing him the space to be 3 dimensional and understandably conflicted. I agree that these types of issues are very real and relatable and when handled with care and artistry (we'll see how this one ends up), they can be some of the most affecting and impactful BL.
