I agree. I made a similar comment. The fight scenes here are real and quick. They are not doing the usual sword play dance that goes on and on without any physical contact that happens in some Wuxi dramas.

I just watched ep 11 and I love the male lead’s fighting. No unnecessary sword play or a ballet dancing like some Wuxia dramas. He did what he had to do and killed who he had to kill. No uncertainty or wavering. I saw blood and I was well satisfied. Even the ending. They killed off an attempted thief. This drama is not afraid to kill and I love it.

You are reading too deep into the character. He loves the fl and is jealous. He doesn’t want to see her married cos as long as she stays unmarried there is hope. Simple as ABC.
