I want to like this show, but episode 2 took all the issues I had with the 1st and made them worse. The camerawork is good, the actors are cute and the music isn't bad, but the whole thing moves at a snail's pace and the director seems to think long awkward periods of wordless staring is character development. Ep 2 kept those problems but added groan-inducing product placement and several seemingly pointless scenes that felt they only existed to pad the runtime.
Does episode 3 continue these issues? I'm wondering if I should keep watching or not.
I'm so proud of both Daon and Shinwoo for overcoming their insecurities! Why can't Taekyung just have them both? 😭 Well, whatever happens now, happens. I volunteer to take whichever one doesn't make it, though...😁
I've seen some people in other places scolding Daon for not going after Taekyung, but keep in mind that he may have confessed in the notebook he handed him, and also keep in mind that he only JUST started standing up for himself. He told off those homophobes (which was kinda hot ngl) and it makes sense that he has to finally put himself first for once and finally get Sohee off his back before he can face Taekyung for real.
I still think Shinwoo will get the man, but don't count out Daon just yet!
I hope Daon gets a happy ending too. I think the lack of affection from his family causes him to show maybe TOO much kindness to others to try to overcompensate for the lack he himself got, but it also causes people to fall for him in ways he didn't intend, so he gets blamed for stringing them along.
I think Taekyung will confess and Daon will have to reject him, which will pave the way for Shinwoo, but I hope they can all stay friends.
What's especially strange is that GMMTV knowingly added in all the toxic stuff that ruined this show. In the novel, Ton knows about Ai and Ni and outright introduces them to Chon as a gay couple. He's not homophobic, and his father character doesn't even exist (or Miriam, for that matter). Amp doesn't even know the other bully guy, and Chon is much more flaming.
Like, I get that the novel may not have had much to work with, but why make the story worse instead of better? I don't get it...
