Please allow me to rant a little. I think I may have lost my taste for these newer Chinese dramas—especially after watching classics like Ever Night and The Story of Minglan (and others in that league). Maybe those dramas raised my standards too high. These days, even when the storyline sounds promising, the acting just doesn’t feel convincing. Many of the lead actors look more like skinny-faced teen models than people truly immersed in their roles. Sometimes I honestly wonder if I’m watching the same drama everyone is hyping. I guess a lot of the excitement comes from the romance trope. As long as there’s intense eye contact, slow-motion scenes, and a kiss here and there, many viewers are satisfied. But for me, that’s not enough. For example, someone can be fighting fiercely for several minutes and not even break a sweat. Their clothes remain perfectly neat. Or they fall down in an avalanche, and somehow everyone appears in fresh outfits, looking cute and camera-ready. The female lead could be unconscious for hours, yet she wakes up looking like she just stepped out of a makeup session. Someone is trying to kill you, but you don’t look afraid or shaken. You still have time to crack jokes and taunt. It just feels unreal to me. Maybe I’m being too critical, but I miss when the emotions felt raw, the struggles looked believable, and the characters seemed human. Sorry for the rant ...but that’s genuinely how I feel.
Can someone recommend good dramas for me, please? Even if they're old, I wouldn't mind at all.
Oh Lord! This is way better than half of those overhyped dramas you like to hype just because your so-called big names and favorite idols are starred in them. Honestly, if you skip this one, you're missing something serious.
I just started this drama, and honestly the ML already feels like a simp. Maybe his behavior is because of his memory loss, but I can’t stand how he tries to push away both the good and bad guys around the FL. It just doesn’t sit right with me.
I don't want to waste too much energy yapping about this drama. The two main leads are already known for starring in tragic love stories...one from "One and Only" and other from "Goodbye, My Princess." They're practically magnets for unnecessary deaths and sad endings, so that's the only comfort I have. And now I'm hearing the writer also has a fetish for heartbreak plots. Pray tell, does anyone know the other dramas he has worked on so I can avoid them like HIV?
This drama is getting more ridiculous by the day. The FL keeps choosing her evil father over her own husband, and they want to call that “romance”? Up till now, I still don’t see any real love between them. It has always been one-sided from the ML, while the FL stays blindly attached to the same father who nearly poisoned her to death and even caused her miscarriage. What kind of nonsense storyline is this?
I don't actually blame the FL for struggling to trust the ML. Almost everyone around her has deceived her, so her guard is naturally high. She truly loves him, but she's not at the point where she can give him her full trust. And each time she tries, something always happens that shakes that trust again. On the other hand, I also understand why the ML isn't fully honest with her. He's trying to protect her, because knowing the whole truth would break her completely. All that said, the ML is still a serious Simp - with a capital L!
You people are shouting 'lazy writing' but we all know the real issue. You're simply disappointed because you don't see any kissing, so your spirits refuse to enjoy the plot. The man is just respecting his marriage please. Your ratings are suffering because your eyes didn't receive romance vitamins. Y'all simply want Shakespeare-level romance, but the male lead said: "I shalt not stain my lips with another woman."😂😂😂
I appreciate.
